Abstract
The intention of this report is to illustrate the design development of my individual project in this
final semester. This design is mostly emphasize on spatial reactivation in Titiwangsa Park. Working
together with the community in Titiwangsa area beatification launched. This project allow me to
explore on designing a gathering human activities space. According to curtain consideration upon
the environment , site context and human culture of the area. To complete this assignment , I
have expose myself to varying design intension and approaches to guide me into a conclusion
that the architecture should be present in this area. To embrace the historical and the culture
quality on site, I took this opportunity to express the permeability quality onsite. One of the main
challenge in this project is no doubt find the balance in expressing the architecture based on the
site context itself.
INTRODUCTION
In Titiwangsa Park there is a lot of outdoors activities, unfortunately there are only curtain
activities only favorites by the community and one of it is bicycle ride. To activate the space in a
more healthier form is to blend into the original culture. Hence, I have evolved the quality of
bicycle ride by adding a bicycle hub with proper facilities, professional guidance and also
necessary gears for the bikers. Hence, the quality of life style in Titiwangsa Area will be increase
and more bicycle lovers will be attracted and gather in this area. Beside that, I would like to make
the building into an sport iconic building to attract more people to participate in sport activities.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVE
Designing a bicycle hub in this area is to provide a proper facilities for the bikers and attract more
bicycle lovers to gather around in this area. Furthermore, by blending the bicycle activate that
favorites by the community around and help to reactivate the space by having more users and
visitors. Beside that, it also encourage the youth from the nearby school to participate in bicycle
riding as youth need sports helps to create a good life style and strengthen their physical fitness.
Last but not least, by using this bicycle hub as an iconic landmark for the bikers and community to
gather around in this area.

PROJECT BACKGROUND& DESIGN INTENTION
Program & Project Brief
Proposed program : Bicycle Hub
The bicycle hub focus on encourage youth study around to take part in sports activities. Beside that,
having bicycle ride is one of the most popular activities, to gain the attention from the community I
have chosen one of their most favorite sports and this sport can be take part either in individual or in
group. Therefore, I would like to have a proper gathering space as well for the bikers in Titiwangsa
area.
Project Objective
• Create a gathering space for the community and bikers
• Encourage people to take part in sports activities
• To function as a landmark for Titiwangsa Area
Commercial Value
Creation of platform for the bike supplier to exchange their knowledge and growth for their business in
Titiwangsa area.
Environmental Awareness
The strategic location of site the schools and park around allow the propose program potentially act as
a gathering center for the people around that area.
Community
The bicycle hub will for sure benefits the community by having a significant building as a landmark to
gather around and also bring them involve into certain kind of sports.
PROJECT BACKGROUND& DESIGN INTENTION
Bicycle Park
Act as an extension area in Titiwangsa for the biker
to cycle to enjoy a carless environment.
Bicycle Ramp
An interesting path provide to attract the attention
the bikers from Titiwangsa Area. Such as the ramp
act as an elevated path to provide an experience of
elevated ride.
Workshop
For the workshop it belongs to the more private
area only people who really interested in bicycle
will be using that area. Most of the time bikers can
be having some DIY project over there by
themselves.
Resting Area
The resting area was is more to public user even
the non bikers can be occupied. Hence, it create a
chilling place for the people around to gather and
rest.

SITE CONTEXT RELATION
Focuses on making of positive contribution to the city by designing a public

PROGRAMMATIC SPACES
Interior spaces that focuses on the function of the building with light
and natural surfaces, able to offer a good care of the bicycle.
Simple configuration of the spaces were intended as to ease the
movement of the cyclist with their bicycle within the spaces given.

PROJECT BACKGROUND& DESIGN INTENTION
Spatial Planning
The overall layout is design by the exist route of the
opposite road from Titiwangsa Park. To attract the bikers to
occupied the space I have create the entrance by aligning
the entrance with the opposite crossing. Hence it create a
sense of continues path for the people from Titiwangsa
Park.
The working space design as 2 blocks. Which includes the
public and the private block. For the public is even for the
non bikers are able to occupied but on the other hand the
private block is only can be occupied by the senior bikers
itself. Furthermore the front block is more toward artificial
ventilation system due to the activities are more suitable for
indoor. Beside that, the private block is an open area due to
the spcae activities such as bike DIY natural ventilation
benefits to have fresh air kept on flowing by removing all
chemical smell during DIY process.
Indoor & Outdoor relationship
By having an indoor and outdoor types of ventilation have
been specified such as using the artificial ventilation or
natural ventilation.
Journey And Interaction
The main blocks for idea of private and non private area
been identified. Such as the non private block is mainly for
everyone but the private block is only provided for the staff
and bicycle lovers.
PROJECT BACKGROUND& DESIGN INTENTION
Design Strategy & Site Response
The massing form design have generate through the the
transparency of the surrounding views. Hence it will be
decide the transparency level it get in that particular area.
The landscape were design through having the same
relationship as Titiwangsa Park. Hence it become an
extension of Titiwangsa Park.
By having a visible and easy trace entrance. It design with
highlighted entrance such as having a slating point to
emphasis the way to enter the building.
PROJECT BACKGROUND& DESIGN INTENTION
Design Strategy & Site Response
By planning the space it took the strategies of the most
visible and non visible area for this area. Hence it
summarize with public and non public space. The most
visible area whould provide mostly for public and private
were specified for specific users.
The entrance of the building were allocate base on the
original crossing from Titiwangsa Park. Hence it create an
image of extension path for the people who visit this Bicycle
Hub.
By creating an interesting path to attract the attention from
people ramp was created to provide and experience of
designated elevate path.

ENVIRONMENTAIL & TECHNOLOGICAL STRATEGIS
Location : Titiwangsa ( Kuala Lumpur) Site plan
The sun path diagram show the relationship of building with site context. It is suggested the west side of
the building which has more shaded area such as having trees and shading could potentially provide.
Beside that, by having a confortable outdoor place, it design the outdoor space is in the center of the
building. Hence it can provide morning and late evening shade and maximize the suitable time to use that
area instead having hot sun shine through all the time.

Wind analysis
By having the wind analysis it had decide the my opening
space for my building. Based on the daily wind rose
diagrams, the wind is blow from all direction but relatively
stronger from the north side, due to not having any
blockage from any neighbor building. The propose building
is design with a semi outdoor space and fully outdoor such
as open café area and bicycle park. Hence the opening
from the indoor let through the wind to pass through the
whole building.
ENVIRONMENTAIL & TECHNOLOGICAL STRATEGIS
Green Feature
As a bicycle hub there are design seeks to make the building into more lively to showcase the
workability of few green ideas. To perform this, the are only added not only to improve the energy
efficiency. On the other hand, it encourage people more knowledge towards green design and make
them familiar with it. Such as the Low E double glazing façade helps to perform better temperature
condition indoor area. Natural light circulation space such as the ramp to reduce the overall energy for
the building. High thermal mass external skin to have better heat resistance and also rainwater
