4. Thesis People who suffer from Bipolar Disorder cannot live a “normal” life. Mood swings Affects the victim and the people around them All the symptoms, types and treatments overwhelms them

5. What is Bipolar Disorder? Bipolar disorder is a serious mental illness that is characterized by extreme changes in mood, from mania to depression. It can lead to risky behavior, damaged relationships and careers, and even suicidal tendencies if it’s not treated (DeNoon).

6. “Despite the fact that bipolar disorder appears to be genetically based a specific gene associated with the disorder has not yet been identified. There is also evidence that bipolar disorder is related to irregular levels of the brain chemicals norepinephrineand serotonin. Specifically it has been found that low serotonin accompanied by low norepinephrine may lead to depression, where as low serotonin accompanied by norepinephrine may lead to mania.” (Pacana)

Sensuality is pervasive, the desire to seduce and be seduced is irresistible. Your marrow is infused with unbelievable feeling of ease, power, well-being, omnipotence, euphoria … you can do anything … but somewhere this changes (DeNoon).”

11. How do they feel? (Part 2) “The fast ideas start coming too fast and there are far too many … overwhelming confusion replaces clarity … you stop keeping up with it … memory goes. Infectious humor ceases to amuse. Your friends become frightened … everything is now against the grain … you are irritable, angry, frightened, uncontrollable, and trapped (DeNoon).”

12. How my grandmother felt “ Things are very difficult to deal with. I care I truly do but my mind won’t let me express these feelings. It hurt me so much to see how I hurt people around me. Just knowing that they love me and try to empathize with my disorder makes it so much better. With out my family I honestly don’t know how I would go on (Williams).”
