1. What about a Gay Gene?
There is no gay gene:
Peter LaBarbera, who heads Americans for Truth About Homosexuality, "People need to understand that the 'gay
gene' theory has been one of the biggest propaganda boons of the homosexual movement over the last 10 [or] 15
years," he points out. "Studies show that if people think that people are born homosexual they're much less likely
to resist the gay agenda."
American Psychological Association publication includes an admission that there's no homosexual "gene" --
meaning it's not likely that homosexuals are born that way.

"There is no consensus among scientists about the exact reasons that an individual develops a
heterosexual, bisexual, gay or lesbian orientation. Although much research has examined the possible
genetic, hormonal, developmental, social, and cultural influences on sexual orientation, no findings have
emerged that permit scientists to conclude that sexual orientation is determined by any particular factor or
factors. Many think that nature and nurture both play complex roles...."
Homosexuality is a choice and it is sin.

2. What is the position of Parkside Bible Church towards same sex marriage and how would we minister to a homosexual
couple who came to our church?
God’s Word instructs us that homosexuality is sin, therefore, same sex marriage is sin and is considered an
abomination to God’s plan for marriage, the family and mankind.
Scripture (Romans 1, Leviticus 18:22, I Corinthians 6:9)
God created human beings as male and female and intended for the expression of sexual intimacies to be fully
consummated only within the heterosexual marriage relationships (Genesis 1 & 2).
Love the sinner, but hate the sin.
Be compassionate in dealing with persons who struggle with homosexual orientation as well as to give clear
warnings and to teach against homosexual practice through the application of God’s Word.
Through prayer, appropriate personal ministry, repentance and salvation some persons will be able to change through
God’s life changing grace from a homosexual to heterosexual orientation, opening the way for heterosexual marriage.

3. How can we as Christians be the “salt and light” unto a dying world in regards to same sex marriage issue?
Continual prayer for our leaders and our country that there would be re-examining of our culture and family values.
