A converging-diverging nozzle with an area ratio of 3.0 is attached to an air reservoir maintained at 500 kPa and 27°C. The behavior of the flow through the nozzle depends on the back pressure and can be classified into four regimes based on the back pressure value. A table should be prepared summarizing the throat Mach number, exit pressure and Mach number, back pressure range, whether the exit Mach number is unity, and whether the exit pressure equals the back pressure for each regime and flow condition. The design, under-expanded, and over-expanded nozzle conditions should also be indicated.
