The word photography derives from the
Greek words phōs light, and gráphein, to
write. The word was coined by Sir John
Herschel in 1839.
3. Where it all started
Photography is the result of combining
several different technical discoveries.
Long before the first photographs were
made, Chinese philosopher Mo Ti and
Greek mathematicians Aristotle and Euclid
described a pinhole camera in the 5th and
4th centuries BC

used very widely
over the world today,
they are symbols of
paparazzi, and a
symbol of freedom,
and ingenuity. Some
of the most wonderful
sights of the earth
have been captured
