A presentation improving my skills in taking shots and creating meaning.

1. Long shot - used to set the location and setting.
This shot was taken in a college showing 2
doors with a water fountain near the end.
Background music consists of college pupils
laughing.
Low angle shot slowly tilting up revealing the
actor in this shot.
Background music continues from first shot
with pupils laughing but more quietly.

2. Close up from the actor's POV.
Background music from pupils laughing fades
out.
Medium shot - representing the actor having a
distressed face. Rule of thirds shows him at the
right of the framed shot.
No background music.

3. Medium shot - of the man holding a gun
tucking it into his belt
Low angle shot - used to make the actor look
like he's dominating the scene with
overwhelming power. The man is washing his
hands.

4. High angle close up - possessions include an ID
card, mobile phone, smartphone and camera
case.
Close up - of the actor clenching its fists.

5. Close up - of the head turning. Blurs quickly
(from right to left). Door opening…
Extreme close up - of the man's eyes.
Black (Pause) BANG! BANG!

6. What I have learnt from this preliminary exercise is that extreme close ups are
used to inherit the emotions from the actor's body language.
Low angle shots demonstrate a sense of power and authority to the individual
and make the opposite person look vulnerable. High angle shots make objects or
people appear small or "looking down" opposed to solely identify them as small,
fragile individuals or items.

7. I believe these shots will become very useful when the director is selecting
and choosing the different types of camera angles and shots when we film.
Not only would this increase our marks but this will allow us to experiment
and become familiar with how the professional directors use this to keep
us excited about trailers.
