3. MON PERIN
An innovative and sustainable local management model
The Mon Perin Ltd. Company was founded in 2005 using a unique management
model. The company has over 900 small shareholders including the inhabitants of
Bale and “Friends of Bale”. The company manages the San Polo and Colone Camps,
which are located 5 km from the centre of the medieval town of Bale in Istria.
From the very beginning of its work, this “social enterprise” has been based on a
special ownership model, investment activities in the local community, youth and
employing local inhabitants.
During the 2013 season 84 people were employed at the San Polo and Colone
Camps, while this year the number of employees will increase to 100.
