The 4th national SME Fair will be held from April 3-7, 2016 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka. Around 200 small and medium enterprises from across Bangladesh will participate to promote their products, expand sales, and develop their markets. Amir Hossain Amu, the Minister of Industry, will inaugurate the fair and present awards to entrepreneurs recognizing their contributions to the economy. The ‘4th
national SME Fair-2016’ going to be kicked off at the city’s Bangabandhhu International
Conference Centre (BCCI) from Sunday.
In a press conference, on Saturday at the SMEF city office, the authority of the fair has confirmed the
inauguration of the five day long fair to promote the production of the small and medium enterprise
producers of the country.
‘The national SME Entrepreneur Award-2016’ will be awarded among five different categories of the
SME entrepreneurs from the country to recognize the entrepreneur’s contribution, commitment and co-
operation in the overall economic development.
From different divisions, districts and upzillas of the country about 200 small and medium enterprises
are going to take part in the fair with their produces to get publicity, expansion, sales and market
development among buyers and visitors of the country and abroad.
Amir Hossain Amu, minister of Industry as a chief guest will inaugurate the national SME fair 2016 and
distribute the awards among the awardees recognizing their contribution in the overall economic
development of the country.

national SME Fair-2016’ will remain open every-day of (3-7, April 2016), from 10:00 am to 8:00
pm. No entry fee required for visitors and buyers during the fair and it will remain open for all.
The small and medium enterprise foundation (SMEF)of Bangladesh devoted to the development of the
country’s SME by providing training, finance, collaboration, market identification, development and
management as well as brand management with different initiatives among entrepreneurs of the
country from 2007.
Besides, in the fair, 7 stalls have been allotted for buyer-seller meeting booth, blood donation
programme, media centre, information centre along with the regular stalls of SME produces.
In the fair 183 small and medium enterprises using 193 stalls will display jute products, food and agro-
processed products, leather products, electrical and electronics products, light engineering products,
Information technology products, plastic and other synthetic products, handy-crafts, design and fashion
wears along with micro, small and medium industry indigenous produces for display and promotion, no
foreign goods and products will be allowed in the fair to safe guard local producers interest.
The SMEF has expressed hope that the fair will help to promote the brand imagery of the local SME
produces and generate response among the buyers and consumers from home and abroad.
