3. INTUITION IS ALWAYS RIGHT IN AT
LEAST TWO WAYS
• IT IS ALWAYS IN RESPONSE TO SOMETHING HAPPENING .
• IT ALWAYS HAS YOUR BEST INTEREST AT HEART.
4. The Messengers of Intuition
• Nagging feelings
• Persistent thoughts
• Humor (especially dark humor)
• Wonder
• Anxiety
• Curiosity
• Hunches
• Gut feelings
• Doubt
• Hesitation
• Suspicion
• Apprehension
• Fear
5. Example
• You enter a convenience store to get a soda. As you walk back to
the cooler, you start feeling like something is wrong?
• What do you do?
6. FORCED TEAMING
• PROJECTION OF A SHARED PURPOSE OR EXPERIENCE
WHERE NONE EXISTS TO ESTABLISH PRE-MATURE
TRUST.
• THE CON ARTIST WILL MAKE YOU WANT TO
PARTICIPATE! WE-ARE-IN-THE-SAME-BOAT-ATTITUDE.
• EXAMPLE: “WE ARE SOME TEAM”,“BOTH OF US”,
KEY WORD IS: (WE’ ARE)
• BEST DEFENSE: MAKE A CLEAR REFUSAL TO
ACCEPT MUTUAL PARTNERSHIP WITH
SOMEONE YOU DO NOT KNOW!
7. Example
• You are at a Bus stop and its raining out. A male party approaches
and states:
• “Boy, we sure picked a bad day to wait for the bus, didn’t we”
• What do you do?
8. CHARM AND NICENESS
• UNSOLICITATED KINDNESS HAS A DISCOVERABLE MOTIVE.
• TO CHARM IS TO COMPEL, TO CONTROL, BY ALLURE OR
ATTRACTION.
• NICENESS IS A DECISION, A STRATEGY OF SOCIAL INTERACTION. IT
DOES NOT EQUAL GOODNESS.
• NICENESS IS A DISGUISE TO MASK EMOTION, AND A SMILE IS A
TYPICAL WAY TO CHARM!
• BEST DEFENSE: WOMEN NEED TO REBUFF UNWANTED
APPROACHES DIRECTLY. SHED OFF THE
SOCIALIZATION OF BEING NICE.
9. Example
• You are in the grocery store and you see a male approach you. He
smiles then states:
• “Hey” “Why is an attractive woman like you shopping alone”?
10. TOO MANY DETAILS
• WHEN PEOPLE TELL THE TRUTH, THEY DO NOT FEEL
DOUBTED, SO THEY DO NOT NEED TO GIVE ADDITIONAL
SUPPORT IN THE FORM OF DETAILS.
• WHEN OTHERS LIE, IT DOES NOT FEEL RIGHT TO THEM,SO
THEY KEEP ON ATTEMPTING TO CONVINCE YOU.
• BEST DEFENSE: REMAIN AWARE OF CONTEXT IN WHICH
THE DETAILS ARE OFFERED
11. Example
• You are opening your trunk of your car in a parking garage to
remove a package. A male shows up and asks if you need help.
• He tells you that he just moved in the area and just happened to be
walking by as he was going to a friends apt. Note: To much info
• What do you do?
12. TYPECASTING
• A MAN LABELS A WOMAN IN SLIGHTLY CRITICAL WAY, HOPING
SHE WILL BE COMPELLED TO DEFEND HERSELF.
• EXAMPLE: “YOU AFRAID TO TALK TO ME BECAUSE OF MY:
(RACE, SEX, SIZE, SMELL ECT..)
• IT IS A SLIGHT INSULT, ONE EASY TO REFUTE BACK. THE CON
WANTS YOU TO ENGAGE IN THE RESPONSE.
DO NOT PLAY THE GAME !
• BEST DEFENSE: ACTING AS IF THE WORDS WERE
NOT EVEN SPOKEN!
13. Example
• After you tell the person that you do not need his help. He says to
you: “ So because I am ____________ you don’t trust me?
• What do you do?
14. LOAN SHARKING
• THE PREDATOR OFFERS HELP, BUT IS CALCULATING THE
DEBT YOU WILL OWE HIM.
• WANTS TO BE ABLE TO HELP YOU, WHICH WOULD PLACE
YOU IN HIS DEBT MAKING IT HARD TO HAVE THEM LEAVE
YOU ALONE.
• EXAMPLE: HELPS OPEN YOUR CAR DOOR, APT DOOR, LIFT
ITEMS FOR YOU.
• BEST DEFENSE: REFUSE THE ASSISTANCE. YOU DID NOT
ASK FOR HIS HELP! IF YOU NEED
ASSISTANCE SEEK OUT ANOTHER
WOMAN FIRST.
15. Example
• He continues to ask to help you with your packages.
• What do you do?
16. THE UNSOLICITED PROMISE
• PROMISES ARE USED TO CONVINCE US OF AN INTENTION,
BUT THEY ARE NOT GUARANTEES .
• EXAMPLE: THE PERSON WHO WANTS TO HELP YOU OPEN
YOUR DOOR STATES THAT HE IS SAFE AND NOT
A RAPIST, THIEF, ECT…
• BEST DEFENSE: ASK YOURSELF.
WHY DOES THIS PERSON NEED TO
CONVINCE ME?
A PERSON OF GOOD MOTIVES WILL NOT
NEED TO CONVINCE YOU.
17. Example
• Male party continues to want to assist you now he tells you he is not
a stalker and will not do anything to you, just want to help.
• What do you do?
18. DISCOUNTING THE WORD NO!
• THE PERSON WHO CHOOSES NOT TO HEAR NO, IS TRYING
TO CONTROL YOU!
• NO IS NOT NEGOTIATABLE! BE DIRECT AND FIRM! DO NOT
GIVE REASONS! IT IS BETTER TO BE THOUGHT OF AS A
( B__TCH) THEN REGRET IT LATER!
• BEST DEFENSE: GET AWAY FROM THE PERSON. IF THAT
IS NOT PRACTICAL, RAISE YOUR VOICE
AND SAY: “I SAID “NO!”
• NOTE: IT IS BETTER TO SEAK OUT AND ASK
FOR HELP, AS OPPOSED TO WAITING
FOR SOMEONE TO APPROACH YOU
19. Example
• After saying NO! you do not need help. He continues to argue with
you.
• What do you do?
20. POINTS TO CONSIDER
• The root of the word, intuition, means “to guard, to protect”.
• Do not dismiss your gut feeling for a coincidence. It is, in fact, a
cognitive process, faster than we recognize and very different from
conscious thought. It is knowing without knowing why. Intuition
discards the irrelevant and values the meaningful
• We deny because we are built to see what we want to see.
• What gets in the way of intuition is judgment. With judgment comes
the ability to disregard your intuition unless you can explain it
logically.
Example: We hear a noise in basement at night and conclude it
must be the furnace. Person offers to carry
your grocery’s to your car and though you are
uncomfortable, you conclude they must just be
nice.
21. APPLICATION

SOMEONE YOU DO NOT KNOW .
• WOMEN NEED TO REBUFF UNWANTED APPROACHES DIRECTLY.
• REMAIN AWARE OF CONTEXT IN WHICH THE DETAILS ARE OFFERED TO
YOU. TO MANY DETAILS FOR NO REASON.
22. APPLICATION CONTINUED
• REFUSE THE ASSISTANCE. YOU DID NOT ASK FOR HIS HELP! IF
YOU NEED ASSISTANCE SEEK OUT ANOTHER WOMAN FIRST.
• ASK YOURSELF: WHY IS THIS PERSON TRYING TO CONVINCE ME
THAT HE IS NOT A THREAT?
• IT IS BETTER TO SEAK OUT AND ASK FOR HELP, AS OPPOSED TO
WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO APPROACH YOU.
• NO MEANS NO! AND DOES NOT MEAN MAYBE!
