I transferred to UC Irvine from Modesto Junior College. I first became interested in studying film when I enrolled in a film appreciation course at MJC. My biggest interest is exploring film and media as teaching tools. I was fascinated by how many instructors and teaching assistants use YouTube to search for clips to serve as examples in their lectures. And thus began my research into the uses of YouTube as a form of visual literacy that has reflected heavily on how our audiovisual culture has changed within a relatively short time period.
