4. It`s A dream for my Little Princesses âMy daughters A dream for the type of world I want to pass on to them â A dream for their Future A dream for the lives they will lead Where there is no hatred, Only one thing rules the world -
5.
6. A WORLD WHERE EVERY DAUGHTER IS Treasured Loved Cared for Wanted Nurtured
7. A daughter may outgrow your lap, but she will never outgrow your heart I have a dream for my daughters- For when they grow up- They`ll make me proud of the steps I have taken and am taking They`ll make today`s problems worth it They will grow up to become something â People will see and say- âWHY DID WE NOT HAVE DAUGHTERSâ âDon't be pushed by your problems. Be led by your dreams.â
8. A daughter is the happy memories of the past, the joyful moments of the present, and the hope and promise of the future
9. My dream is to pass to my daughters a world where People love each other There is no hatred based on sex/caste/creed⊠Women are at par with men in all aspects of life Man And woman are considered equal. âDreams are like the paints of a great artist. Your dreams are your paints, the world is your canvas. Believing, is the brush that converts your dreams into a masterpiece of reality.â
10. This poem describes the world of my dreams. I have a beautiful world in my dreams My dream world is very peaceful In my dream world, no one is harmed by another In my dream world, everyone loves each other In my dream world, everyone thinks about peace Unity and brotherhood exist Women and men work together No one says that this woman is bad because she works with men In my dream world, no women suffer problems because of being a woman.
11. In my dream world, all girls and boys get an equal education. In my dream world, life is very beautifulEveryone is happyYoung and innocent people are not being killedThere are no insurgents, no insecurityEveryone has a comfortable lifeEveryone is relaxed, not worrying about their children going to schoolStudents come back healthy, not killed in a suicide attack. In my dream world, mothers are happyThey are not in sorrow over their childrenâs deathIn my dream world, no newly married girls become widowsMy dream world is a green color where everyone is happyMy dream world and my world,I hope, become the same one day By Seeta (http://awwproject.wordpress.com/2009/07/31/my-dream-world/)
12. A world where women don`t die prematurely, Have a life is worth living. Are able to have good health including reproductive health Are able to move freely from place to place And are secure against violent assault, including sexual assault and domestic violence Have opportunities for sex satisfaction and for choice in matters of reproduction. Are able to use the sense, to imagine, think and reason in a truly human way Are protected by freedom of expression
13. Because ⊠Women's empowerment is intertwined with respect for human rights." Womenâs rights are human rights. Across the world women face injustices and are treated like second class citizens, commodities, and sometimes compared in value to livestock. The World should applaud and support those who strive for change in countries that refuse them choice and freedom. An empowered woman is an empowered family⊠empowered children⊠and an empowered future generationâŠ
14. Because ⊠Women and girls represent over half the population of the world. Abuse of women and girls is common throughout the world, in developed, developing and under-developed countries. Most victims of domestic violence are women and children. Most war victims are women and children. Most refugees are women and children. Most victims of sex trafficking are women and girls Most illiterate adults are women Most of the worldâs poor are women.
15. Because ⊠We will not have healthy societies until we have balanced societies â where women and men partake equally at all levels. There has been a great deal of progress over the last hundred years; but this is comparatively recent history. There is no room for complacency. There is still a very long way to go before women, and âwomenâs valuesâ are fully integrated into society. Women are still left out of most decision-making processes. Abused women are not empowered women.Empowered women take part equally in society, locally and globally.
16. Challenges I`ll face in Making my dreams a reality Patriarchal mindset ( at every level-homes, streets, authorities, judiciary, government etc ) Poor governance Lack of motivation of government Lack of implementation of policies and laws Corruption âwhy do I care, if it`s happening to my neighbor â attitude âchaltaHai â attitude âmy comfort is first-everyone else go to hellâ attitude.
17. Hypocrisy A society where money is everything- money is love, money is trust , money is justice, money is respect. A society where EVERYTHING and EVERYBODY is on sale. Personal challenges in the form of time, money, security, resources
18. How I plan to overcome those challenges Networking with like minded individuals and organizations Fighting my battles LIVING MY DREAM AS IF IT IS TRUE TODAY Taking each day as it comes Trusting myself and trusting God Training the youth because they are our future ⊠Challenging the system Dreams are illustrations... from the book your soul is writing about you. ~Marsha Norman
19. Pay attention to your dreams - God's angels often speak directly to our hearts when we are asleep. ~Quoted in The Angels' Little Instruction Book by Eileen Elias Freeman, 1994 The best reason for having dreams is that in dreams no reasons are necessary. ~Ashleigh Brilliant Dreams are nature's answering service - don't forget to pick up your messages once in a while. ~Sarah Crestinn We are not only less reasonable and less decent in our dreams... we are also more intelligent, wiser and capable of better judgment when we are asleep than when we are awake. ~Erich Fromm For a dreamer, night's the only time of day. ~From the movie Newsies Those who have compared our life to a dream were right.... We sleeping wake, and waking sleep. ~Michel de Montaigne, Essays, 1580 All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them ~Walt Disney
