•CT Carotid and cerebral angiography
is the study of neck arteries(Carotid
arteries) and arteries of brain(cerebral
arteries) ,(Circle of willis) by using CT
SCANNER .

ANGIOGRAPHY?
• CT SCANNER
• PRESSURE INJECTOR
• CONTRAST MEDIA
• SYRINGES
• NORMAL SALINE
• DEFRIBILLATORS AND EMERGENCY DRUGS TROLLEY
• OTHER MATERIALS REQUIRED FOR CANNULA
INSERTION(gauze piece, needles etc.)
4. PATIENT
PREPARATION
•4-5 hrs of fasting required.
•Sedation is required in case of unstable patient.
•History of allergy is taken.
•Previous patient record is checked.
•Consent to be filled by the guardian of patient.
5. INDICATIONS
:-
• Aneurysm
• Narrowing of arteries in the brain
• Abnormal blood vessels.
• Narrowing or blockage of carotid arteries.
• Stenosis
• To determine future risk of stroke
• Stricture of the Carotid arteries.
9. PROCEDURE
Cannula is inserted if required.
Plain CT images are obtained of neck and brain.
Normal saline 25ml and 100ml contrast is used.
If creatinine is normal then omnipaque is given else
visipaque is used.
Contrast is then injected by the help of pressure injector.
Images are then obtained of the arteries.
Post processing and VRT images are produced using special
3D ,4D applications.
