The founder-chairman of HCL.
He is known as father of India's IT industry.
Native of MOOLAIPOZHI village in TUTICORIN
district (Tamil Nadu).
In 1968, he moved to Delhi where he worked
as engineer with Delhi Cloth Mills (DCM).
His dream was to startup his own company to
manufacture computer in India.`

• To raise fund initially, he floated a company called “Microcomp Limited” to
sell scientific calculators.
• Ventured along with five of his friends (Arjun Malhotra, Subhash Arora, Ajay
Chowdhary, DS Puri &YogeshVaidya).
• Mr. Nadar founded HCL in 1976 with dream of making personal computers.

Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani

executives.
• Initially, 25 restaurants on its
platform.

Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai,
Kolkata, and Pune.
• Swiggy has raised a total of 75.5
million dollars in funding from various
investors like Accel Partners, SAIF
Partners, etc.
Business Model
Swiggy has two major revenue streams:
 The major part of Swiggy’s revenue
from commission it collects from
restaurants for lead generation and for
serving as a delivery partner.
 Swiggy also charges a nominal delivery
fee from customers on orders below a
threshold value which 200 rupees for
most cities.
