This presentation was given to technology coordinators in IU 13 in PA. The goal is to get them to realize that cell phones can be strong tools for our teachers to use in education, but there needs to be structure to implementation, just as with any other tool used in the classroom. The problem isn't the technology, it's the classroom management.
Do we go ahead and ban the technology, knowing that it will be a major part of our students lives and that they will bring it to school, or do we take the lead and teach our students to properly use the technology productively?
The purpose of this presentation was not about showcasing the ways cell phones can be used, but to show why we need to allow structured, educational use of these devices.
