2. In Spanish there are subject
pronouns just like in English. A
subject pronoun refers to a person
or persons and often takes the
place of a person’s name. For
example:
I= YO
YOU= TÚ
HE= ÉL
MIGUEL= Él
3. In Spanish there are actually 12
subject pronouns. Today we will
look at 3 of these.
YO I
TÚ YOU (this is the informal you)
UD.(USTED) YOU (this is the formal or polite you.)
In Spanish there are 2 ways to say “YOU”. TÚ is used with
people you know or people your own age. UD.(USTED) is
used with adults, teachers and people you don’t know.
