Ministry Ventures Calling and History
Our calling resides in Paul’s exhortations to Timothy, “Train up faithful men…” and “Stir up the gift of God
within you….” These exhortations have compelled us to serve others in this fashion.
1998 The Ministry Ventures™ (MV) concept was birthed through the partnership of Mike Kendrick, Eric Swartz,
and Boyd Bailey.
1999 MV incubated its first ministry: Lighthouse Family Retreat.

MV was incorporated as a nonprofit. The first full-time staff member was hired, and we began incubating
new and early stage ministries.

Ministry Ventures Prayer Strategy
• The entire MV staff prays each Monday morning on a conference call.
• The board role of Spiritual Director leads a listening prayer before each board meeting.

• We collaborate with local ministry affiliates including local foundations, churches, ministries and businesses that
will support MV in their cities and introduce ministry leaders to MV services.
• We establish a city presence through introductory training events and regional affiliate partnerships.
