Rio Bravo River Research Paper
WWF works to secure the correct volume, timing and amount of water in a river so people and
nature can thrive. Working across the globe, WWF supports responsible water use and
infrastructure. Sometimes that work involves numerous partners across country borders as
demonstrated by our work on the Rio Grande. This river, also known as the Rio Bravo, serves as
part of the border between the United States and Mexico. Located in the Chihuahuan Desert, this
river provides water to some of the fastest–growing urban areas in the United States and provides
water to thousands of farms and ranches. However, over the past century, growth in human
population–and the agricultural and urban development that accompanies it–has put enormous stress
on the region. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Much of this is "hidden" water. For example, it takes 24 gallons of water to make one pound of
plastic. Some are more careful with water use and impacts than others. As more companies begin to
look for ways to reduce their water use, new science and methods are needed to drive policy
changes that will do the most good for water sources.
Success Story: Nature Conservancy scientists are helping pioneer new science that can track
"hidden" water in a company's supply chain and developing guidelines to reduce water use.
CITIES – WATER USE AND IMPACTS
Stormwater carries pollution from cities into rivers and lakes, yet most cities do not take sufficient
measures to prevent run–off. According to the EPA, 40 percent of US rivers and lakes surveyed do
not meet water quality standards. Urban runoff is one of the key culprits.
Water quality isn't the only issue. Leaky, aging pipes waste 7 billion gallons of clean drinking water
each day in the United States alone. And most cities do not take emergency measures until drought
is severe.
Success Story: The Nature Conservancy is launching new projects to help cities use less water and
reduce run–off. One exciting example is a project in which students in our LEAF program built a
rain garden in Camden, NJ." on the internet

Rio Bravo IV: Lack Of Communication In The HR System
3.1.1. Lack of Human Resource (HR) Structure
The keystone of an organisation is its employees. The success of Rio Bravo IV is reflected by the
performance of its staff members and how they are managed, including the skill with which they
carry out their job function.
The talent acquired to manage the operations of the plant, did not have the relevant experience. HR
should assist Packard Electric with the recruitment of talented, skilled and engaged people it needs.
Armstrong (2012:9) maintains that HR should "support the organisation with achieving its objective
by developing and implementing HR strategies that are integrated with business strategies". Top
management did not make sure that an evaluation for skilled employees was carried out.
3.2. Operational Strategy
3.2.1. Lack of Communication
Good communication is essential for the effectiveness of any organisation and the lack of
communication at Rio Bravo proved to be a serious problem. There was a lack of communication
between management and the Rio Bravo team, amongst the employees at Rio Bravo and between
management and the customer. Certain problems regarding the product could have been avoided if
the customer and supplier had good communication channels. If they regarded themselves as "high–

The Effects Of Neoliberal Ideals On The Portrayal Of Class
The Effect of Neoliberal Ideals on the Portrayal of Class in Reality TV Over the past two decades,
reality TV has become an increasingly popular genre of media and a staple in entertainment culture.
As reality TV has continued to grow, scholars have become interested in examining the societal
effects of the messages that it promotes. Thus, scholarly research in the genre of reality TV
examines how the use of neoliberal ideals affects the portrayal of socioeconomic class. This field of
study was first founded in the research of neoliberalism's presence within the media and reality TV.
As time has passed, many scholars have narrowed their examination to the portrayal of
socioeconomic class that results from the promotion of neoliberal ... Show more content on

Unlike George Mantsios, Rennels and Edwards focused their work specifically on reality TV. Each
author completed case studies of individual reality TV shows; yet they came to the same conclusion
that reality TV presents the poor as individuals, or singular families, that can overcome poverty by
working hard and adopting traditional "puritan–esque" values. Here Comes Honey Boo focuses on a
southern working–class white family and intentionally emphasizes their lazy lifestyle as well as
unconventional behaviors, which implies that their unorthodox lifestyle has lead to their state of
poverty (Rennels). Outside of the United States, scholars such as Annabel Tremlett have studied the
ways in which class has played into the representation of marginalized minorities, specifically the
Gypsy community, in reality TV. Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, "glosses over social conditions and
ignores potential for social and cultural change" (Tremlett 324). The immense poverty found within
the Gypsy community is attributed to negative aspects of their culture rather than systemic
oppression. Narratives in which the men are "drinking and fighting" while the women are
"oppressed housewives" are common plotlines that contribute to enforcing Gypsies "otherness" as a
reason for their poverty (Tremlett 327). On the other hand, shows such as Extreme Makeover: Home
Edition "present families as private units that must be helped, not by public aid,

Bravo Arts Academy Target Market
To start I would like to cover how Bravo Arts Academy defines their Segmenting, Targeting, and
positioning. Alli Barnes, the marketing director at Bravo, gave me a very detailed description of the
current state of Bravo Arts Academy's IMC plan. To start off Alli described Bravo's target/segment
as northern Utah and families. I believe that to go into further detail to more accurately describe
Bravo's current target and segmentation you should look at the locations of all three academy
locations. All the buildings are located in demographic areas where the dominant demographics are
"Middleburg" which are families that are at a middle class income, typically have children,
relatively young, family oriented, and are typically have freedom in their budgets. Also,"Up and
Coming Families" are families that typically are more diverse, are ambitious, willing to take risks
when it comes to financial planning, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are few things that I believe that they could improve on being that Bravo is an all ages
academy you would think that we would have students of all ages. Unfortunately, I do not believe
that Bravo is zeroing in on getting the maximum potential of their demographic target. The vast
majority of our students are between six and seventeen years old. I have personally had a few adults
students from 18 all the way to 70 years old. From my experience I do not believe that adults do not
want to take lessons; I believe that they are simply unaware of the fact that adults can take lessons.
In addition I believe that marketing communications could be refined to target the females of the
targeted demographics. Generally the women of the household are the parent that determines the
extracurricular activities. I believe that marketing communications directed at gaining new child
student would be more effective if Bravo tailored their marketing communications towards

Effective Television : Reality TV Vs. Reality Shows
In the last decade, television has converted from scripted based programming to reality based
programming. Although the content is largely contrived, it's intent is to portray each character in his
or her own element. Historically, television and virtually every other form of media have used
stereotyping to appeal to a certain demographic. But the use of subtle and more subliminal messages
has become less and less common over the years. Furthermore, the blatant differences between
scripted television shows and reality television are unparalleled. For example, scripted television's
mission is to recreate a reality from the average Americans point of view. Show's that are set in
hospitals, fire departments, police departments, or in corporate settings, usually illustrates the
diversity and racial equality that exists in those industries. In contrast, reality shows are vastly
different in its approach. Titles, for instance, reveals much more about the casting, it's storylines and
its overall objection. For instance, Basketball Wives, which is a popular reality show that airs on
VH1, it's intent is to reveal the day to day lives of the wives of NBA basketball players. However,
the show very rarely focuses on any positive aspects of their daily endeavors, like raising children or
promoting charities. But rather, the show promotes alcohol–fueled disputes, merciless and
materialistic African American and Latina women. Conversely, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
reflects a vastly

Colonialism In Teresia
What is colonialism? Colonialism is occupying one's land with or without the permission of the
natives of the land and later on occupying it with settlers and utilizing it economically.
Colonialism began in 1500s by European nations such as France, Portugal, England, and Spain.
European nations began to colonize through Americas, India, Middle East, and South East Asia.
Part of the logic behind colonialism was to "modernize" the colonized countries. Various
European nations had also control over the south pacific islands. The first Oceania colonies were
Australia and New Zealand. Soon after, French seized French Polynesia and New Caledonia.
Writers such Kathy Jetnil–Kijiner, Teresia Teaiwa, and Dina El Dessouky have spoken about the
harsh reality of colonialism in south pacific. Kathy Jentil–Kijiner is a Marshall Islander poet and
spoken word artist. Kathy has spoken against the environmental injustice in the Marshall islands,
she has spoken out against the nuclear testing in her home islands through her poems. Teresia
Teaiwa, a scholar in research of the cultures of the pacific islands. Teresia has also written about the
nuclear testing in the pacific islands, Teresia Teaiwa's "Bikinis and other s/pacific n/oceans" is
written in an academic manner, targeted mainly for educated audience. Dina El Dessouky's,

Bravo Company in Black Hearts by Jim Frederick Essay
Black Hearts was about the 2005–2006 deployment of the 101st's second brigade's 1–502nd (First
Strike) to Iraq. The book more specifically honed in on Bravo Company and their first platoon's
decent into complete madness throughout the deployment. The 1–502nd and its commander Lt Col
Kunk, was tasked with the mission of getting control of and hold the land in–between the Euphrates
and Tigris rivers. Kunk was a particularly difficult man to get along with. He would explode and go
on a tirade over just about anything, big or small. This caused serious problems at meetings when he
only wanted things his way and would personally attack his commanders who he thought he could
not trust. This area had been recently dubbed as the "Triangle of ... Show more content on

This cause the men to get a lot less time to relax, taking 8 or more hour guard shifts. The redundant,
mundane task of manning the TCPs would make the soldiers restless, tired and complacent; an
extremely dangerous combination when in a combat zone. The TCPs would cause a lot of problems
throughout the entire deployment. The first catastrophe to hit Bravo Company, and 1st platoon in
particular, was the deaths of SSG Nelson and SGT Casica from 3rd SQD. They were both shot point
blank while trying to talk to a familiar civilian that they had spoken to previously while manning a
TCP. This was the start of the downward spiral that 1st platoon went through during the deployment.
Continuing after this incident, the company was still spread very thin, having too many tasks and not
enough people. Having to go out on a 20–hour mission and then have to go back out right after you
get to the FOB hoping for a bit of relaxing time was a serious moral killer. This didn't not help the
fact that 1st platoon already had been taking out bottled anger and remorse for their lost comrades
out on insurgent and civilian alike. To them they were all the enemy. The next big blow the 1st
platoon was the deaths of 1LT Britt and SPC Lopez. During a routine IED sweep of route sportster,
1LT Britt and his men were taking contact from mortar fire and one remotely launched RPG from
across the canal the paralleled the road. Once the fire had stopped 1LT Britt

Review Of ' Bravo For The Marshallese '
Pachee Vang
ANTH 3800
Exam 1 Essay
Bravo for the Marshallese The Marshall Islands has always been that of a peaceful paradise for the
Marshallese; that is to say before it was irradiated by nuclear bomb testing by its very own trust
partners the United States. The Marshallese thought that giving up their island would help bring
peace to the world and since most of the population was converted into Christianity, they were led to
believe that they were doing a favor as "Judas's children". What they didn't know was that for the
next 12 years, their precious islands were to become the test site of hazardous atomic bomb testing
that would change their life and history forever. What was first contentment turned into concealed
resentment towards their only source of support. The population that was most affected by the
radiation was perhaps the Rongelapese of the Rongelap Atoll. In the perspective of the Marshallese,
land is not just something where you inhabit, it is the "essence of life" (Barker, 61). The Marshallese
people's culture and existence come from their land. Without the land, they could not carry on their
traditional roles. The Marshall Islands is primarily matrilineal meaning that women own land and
pass it on to their next generation. The land is where daughters learn from their mothers how to
weave and create crafts while sons learn how to fish and navigate from their fathers. But with the
evacuation from their homeland, parents could not pass on their knowledge

Reality Television and The Negative Impact on the...
With a sense of voyeurism millions of Americans tune into reality television every night without
much thought of the negative message these show project. Since 1948 with the inception of Candid
Camera viewers have been able to select between scripted television and reality television changing
the nature of at home entertainment. The Millennium marked a change with the Academy of Arts
and Science adding the reality genre to the Emmy Awards, celebrating ordinary people in unscripted
situations. However with more and more of theses shows glamorizing negative behavior and social
situations as well as taking away from scripted television and rewarding bad behavior it is no
wonder the Millennial and next generations are said to be doomed.
In recent years there has been an evolution in television networks that focus the majority of their
programing on reality television. Bravo which is owned by NBC originally focused on performing
arts and independent films shifted to a focus on pop culture, fashion and celebrities in 2003. The
original content of these shows was ways to better ones self with makeovers, however the birth of
the Real Housewives franchise in 2006 brought on a much more negative trend. With the high
saturation of "real" women in different area codes now playing out unscripted but seemingly over–
produced drama comes the negative propaganda that this is how women are suppose to behave.
These shows glamorize vulgarity, materialism, drug addiction, alcohol abuse and

Lack Of Explicit Team Norms
"There 's No I in TEAM." – Proverb
Have you ever heard the saying, 'A chain is only as strong as its weakest link '? This analogy also
applies to the performance of virtual teams. Team Johnny Bravo started out with good intentions,
but struggled to find balance working within a Leaderless, Modular design structure. A lack of
explicit team norms will impact communication and production efforts. This paper will discuss four
operating norms, concerns with a lack of norms, actions to overcome those concerns and norm
recommendations for Team Johnny Bravo.
Norms
"You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else." –
Unknown
According to Mocha (2007), working anywhere and everywhere is a concept of globalization.
Although work is pushing around the world, remote team members need to exhibit a common and
acceptable set of behaviors referred to as norms.
In his research Settle–Murphy (2012), found that established norms within successful virtual teams,
dictated how the group functioned. It is important to note, norms and rules are not one in the same,
but they work together to form a team 's identity. an important function of a successful team. Often,
the earlier these norms can be established, the better. While rules play a part in establishing norms,
norms can also be unspoken where rules are not. Team Johnny Bravo established communication
and task norms. Below are four of those norms that operate within the team:

Murder at the Priory: Who Killed Charles Bravo?
On April 21st, 1876 30–year–old Charles Delauney Turner Bravo was found poisoned in the Priory,
his home in South London. The ambitious British lawyer had just only married Florence Ricardo
(nee Campbell), a wealthy widow five months before his death. On April 18th, 1876 Bravo had
dinner with his wife and her companion, Mrs. Jane Cannon Cox ("Florence Bravo," n.d.). After
dinner Bravo retreated to his room and a few minutes later, Bravo cried out for hot water. The maid
and Mrs. Cox rushed to help Bravo and he soon fell into unconsciousness. Three days later Bravo
was pronounced dead. The post–mortem in St Thomas's hospital revealed that Bravo died of a

He expects total obedience from his wife and to control her finances. Victorian wives knew about
this and accepted it, but Florence was no ordinary Victorian woman. She opted the Married
Woman's Property Act 1870 which states that woman could hold on to their own money (Married
Woman's Property Act, n.d.) and this had enraged Bravo. Her marriage to Bravo was a marriage of
convenience rather than love because he could restore her social position and she could bring a
substantial amount of money (from her first husband) into the marriage. Not long into the marriage,
Bravo again tried to exert control over the household affairs and Florence's money. George Griffiths
was discharged by Bravo and that enraged Griffiths because he had just gotten married and his wife
was pregnant. Besides that, Griffiths was kicked out from his residence by his former employer. All
these reasons are sufficient to trigger Griffiths' urge to harm Bravo out of grievance. Griffiths had
even predicted Bravo's death in a few months time (Sherwin, 2004). Other than that, Ruddick
discovered the record of Sales of Poison Register that proves Griffiths had purchased four ounces of
tartar emetic to use on the horses (as cited in Ruddick, 2001, pp. 124). Griffiths would know the
effect of tartar emetic if overdosed and he certainly had the access to it, but is he really the

The report of the plant manager for RIO BRAVO IV, a subsidiary of Packed Electrical a division of
General Motors identifies mistakes made by top management. These mistakes clearly indicate top
management failure to use project management principles in starting up a new manufacturing
branch. It also points out the learning outcomes when good efforts are placed at the right places and
with the right human talent employed. In the new economy organizations have to focus on the
customer, environment and its resources and change their approach in doing business (paradigm

The Bravo Battery 1–14th FA had moved from FSB Mary Ann to LZ Mildred prior to the attack.
The commander Captain Conatser was responsible for the counter–mortar program and had not

mortar firing locations prior to the attack, they could have been more effective with their counter

on the enemy composition, capabilities, and location. The leaders should have understood their

The Nuclear Bomb Of Hiroshima And Nagasaki
Who is good and who is Evil? Many of us go through life thinking that whatever we do must be
what is good, never questioning authority and blindly following a government that is thought to be
incapable of doing evil. After World War II, many Americans felt a sense of nationalism. They were
proud of the fact that their military destroyed Nazi Germany and Imperialist Japan. However this
euphoric patriotism can often blind the holder. In August of 1945, the United States Military
dropped two nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. There were noble reasons for dropping the
bombs, but surely destroying two entire cities questions the integrity of the United States. So again I
ask, who is good and who is evil? After the events of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the United States
was eager to learn more about the impacts of nuclear devices on the environment. The United States
set up several nuclear bomb tests on the Marshall Islands in which they properly planned for.
However one test, code named Operation Castle, went horribly wrong. Scientists involved in the test
claim they expected an explosive yield of four to six megatons, but instead a yield of fifteen
resulted. For reference, this is one thousand times greater than the yields of both the Hiroshima and
the Nagasaki nuclear bombs (Huard). Many people believe this was merely a lapse in judgement,
however I believe there is evidence that the United States government intentionally created a
disaster in order to study the effects of

Analysis Of The Poem ' The Daughter Of The Dancers '
The Virtue Of Innocence
Innocence is a glorified trait in nearly any culture around the world. Many strive to keep the
innocence they are born with, and plenty others spend a lifetime attempting to regain the innocence
they have lost with age. In the following photos, innocence is a common theme, which each
photographer approaches in a unique way. There is a dull and unsettling truth behind the innocent
demonstration of young ladies acting much more mature than their age. Manuel Alvarez Bravo is
one of the premier figures of modern photography and the main photographer among the immense
Mexican artists of the twentieth century. In The Daughter of the Dancers, Bravo illustrates the idea
of youthfulness on the verge of loosing its innocence. Sally Mann, a photographer from the 1980s–
90s, caught a reflection of grown–up moves inside the innocence and youth of adolescents in Candy
Cigarette through her utilization of organization, field point, and technique. In 1985 National
Geographic photographer Steve McCurry went through Afghan towns concentrating on the evacuees
and recording their hardships. The Afghan Girl is a classical image of lost innocence; the girl was
forced to grow up way to fast. Her innocence did not survive, but she did.
The innocence of children is secured by the individuals who adore them with the goal that they grow
up as actually unaffected by preventable undesirable contributions as could be expected under the
circumstances. With her back to the camera,

Operation Crossroads Essay
What happened to Bikini Atoll when the United States had a nuclear weapons test series? Operation
Crossroads was a nuclear test that was held during the summer of 1946 at Bikini Atoll intended to

first test was codenamed Able. The 23 kiloton bomb was dropped from the B–29 Superfortress

from the target ships. The second test was codenamed Baker. The 23 kiloton bomb was put 90 feet
underwater. The bomb caused many unusual phenomena that a conference was held two months
later to define new terms for use in descriptions and analysis. There was originally a third test
codenamed "Charlie", but it was canceled due to the inability of the United States to remove the
target ships after test Baker. United States should not have conducted the nuclear bomb test at Bikini

Marines Of Bravo Company Essay
The Marines of Bravo Company "When a pair of Cobra helicopter gunships thumped overhead,
flying north, presumably on their way to battle, Marines pumped their fists in the air and screamed,
'Yeah! Get some!'" This quote was taken from the article, "The Killer Elite," written by Evan
Wright. The article follows Sergeant Brad Colbert and Bravo Company, First Reconnaissance
Battalion as they begin their invasion of Iraq. Being a Marine combat veteran myself, I can relate to
the Marines of Bravo Company. Sergeant Colbert and his team were the prime example of
camaraderie, a bond which helped them endure the action and adversity of a combat deployment
because war by its very nature can be exciting, scary, and challenging. Foremost, when Sergeant
Colbert and the Marines of Bravo Company received the news from headquarters that their unit
would be included on the frontlines for the invasion of Iraq they were ecstatic. Wright writes,
"Nearly every Marine I've met is hoping this war with Iraq will be his chance to get some."
According to Wright every Marine is waiting for their opportunity to have the adventure that they
signed up for. That is exactly how I felt when I joined the United States Marine Corps back in 2004.

Mr. Bravo Personal Statement
I seek to join Teach For America because I strongly believe in education equity and in the power of
empowering students to reach their full potential. I was born and raised in East Los Angeles, an
underserved community, where I witnessed how education inequity played a critical role in the life
opportunity and academic success of the youth in my community. At age 13, I began losing friends
and classmates due to drugs, alcohol, gang violence, and delinquency. Afraid and stressed about the
social injustices in my community, I began to lose interest in school. Fortunately, Mr. Bravo, my 8th
grade history teacher, came into my life during this pivotal moment. Mr. Bravo helped me cope with
my losses by providing check–ins during lunch and after school. Mr. Bravo empowered me to be a
better student and most importantly helped me understand that I could be a social agent of change.

students to be civically engaged citizens. By being part of this organization not only will I be a
devoted teacher but also a mentor, resource counselor, and community leader. I will push my
students to achieve academic excellence and challenge them to be invested in their community. I

Seattle Pitting Research Paper
On March 23, 1954, Seattle newspapers reported citizens finding pits and glass bubbles within their
car windshields at a town 80 miles from Seattle. Police investigated and initially brushed it off as
vandalism, albeit without much proof. It did not seem like a serious case, after all...until more
reports of similar damages popped up on April 14th from another town 65 miles away, and on that
same evening, in Seattle itself. Hundreds of people phoned Seattle police between the 14th and 15th,
reporting the same pittings and dings in their windshields. Seattle citizens entered a state of
confusion and paranoia, to the point where the mayor had begun to look to President Eisenhower for
help when not even the police could find the cause for this. ... Show more content on

Such dire–sounding headlines only fueled the people's fear of nuclear war more. Upon hearing news
of the affected fishermen and the sheer power of such H–bombs, people began to fear not only of
other countries, like Soviet Russia, planning to develop similar, if not more destructive hydrogen
bombs, but American bomb testings affecting them. "Following atmospheric testing of hydrogen
bombs in 1954, people in and around Seattle, Washington began to report mysterious "pitting"
damage to auto windshields. [...] The incident was shortly followed by a nationwide rush to buy
fallout shelter plans" (Miller 136) The H–bomb testings seemingly spelling doom, according to
1950s media, did not help survival plans make people feel any safer, either. "The film, Duck and
Cover, was shown to schoolchildren beginning in 1950. The cartoon turtle, the cheerful theme song,
and the practical advice were supposed to reassure children who might worry about an atomic
attack. Instead, the images of little Johnny diving off his bicycle convinced children that the bombs
could fall at any moment and gave them nightmares" (Walbert). The 1950s was a time where many
were scared of being under nuclear attack, children and adults alike. Thus, the unexplainable
windshield pittings in Seattle had people easily jumping to a conclusion of nuclear fallout being
behind the pittings. Those in Seattle who were "in support of this view ... claimed that they found
tiny, metallic–looking particles about the

The history of Mexico is much different than the history of its northern neighbor, the United States
(U. S.). At one time Mexican territory extended north into the Colorado area and west to California
before ceding the property to the U. S. after the Mexican–American War of 1846–1848. Mexico and
most of South America had been settled by Spain upon encountering the New World in 1492. So
South American Spanish colonies spoke Spanish, had a ruling class that was not native born called
peninsulares who were born in Spain but lived and ruled Mexico. Mexican ties with Europe were
strong and in its colonial days the rulers and upper class individuals tended to draw from European
society to make Mexico feel like the place they left behind. With regard to Mexican Natives,

Occasionally, this type of scenario is not seen, however, especially when speaking about newest
housewife and former model, Cynthia Baily. Cynthia is the only housewife on the series that has no
obscure drama that involves futile, petty less girl fights. For the rest of the southern women,
unfortunately, drama is their way of life. Images of the "housewives" are excessively pictured on the
internet. Bravotv.com has pages full of group photographs of the women in their exotic southern
outfits, sparking smiles and diva personas. Pictured on the first page is a photograph from

certain characteristics to make them, in turn, an actual character on a show. Characters are needed so
that the viewer's cans stereotype each woman, thus providing a cast of characters. This provides an

Ecological Effects of Anti Communism Strategies by the...
During the early stages of the Cold War (1945–1954), the United States became so dedicated to
stopping the spread of communism that they completely ignored the potential ecological effects of
their strategic decisions, signifying a complete disconnect from contemplative ecology.
During this period under the Truman Administration, there was an overwhelming societal belief that
national security concerns trump environmental safety. As a matter of fact, there was zero concern
from the federal government towards environmental safety, as evidenced by the United States
Federal Government Spending for the Fiscal Year of 1950. Zero concern equalling zero dollars

For the consequences of wiping out American cities with atomic weapons would result in the
simultaneous destruction of Soviet cities from an American counter–attack. The ultimate result
would be mutually assured destruction on both sides. The ecological reprocussions from such a
scenario would be disasterous. Both the Americans and the Soviets had enough nuclear weapons to
not only wipe each other off the map, but also enduce a global nuclear winter–which is when the
nuclear fallout is so thick it blocks out the sun, lowering the global climate, killing of plantlife,
animal life which depended on that plantlife, and ultimately causing a complete food chain
disruption. Hell on Earth as we know it.
Fortunately, worldwide nuclear winter was only a possibility, never a reality. But for some people,
the reprocussions of the use of nuclear weapons are very real. The United States tested 67 nuclear
weapons in Bikini Atoll from 1946–1958. Bikini Atoll, which belonged to a conglomerate of 23
islands–the Marshall Islands–was formerly inhabited by nearly 5000 bikinians before they were
voluntarily evacuated in order to begin nuclear testing. Many of the Bikinians resided on nearby
Rongelap atoll, until fallout from the Castle Bravo Hydrogen Bomb test in 1954 shrouded the atoll
in a cloud of radioactive fallout, forcing them to once again relocate to another island. The US
Government declared Bikini atoll habitable in 1970, and

Bravo Media Network Analysis
As a life long member of Jack and Jill of America Inc, I am baffled (deleted words) as to why
anyone, especially NBCUniversal, a well–known media company who describes itself as "uniquely

organization. Bravo Media Network, is currently in the production phase of a new show called,
"Potomac Ensemble." A show designed to showcase the lives of six affluent African–American
women who call Potomac, Maryland, home. This show was strategically devised to display an
insightful look into our beloved organization. Understanding Bravo Media's reputation and the
category of scandalous media and entertainment they tend to promote, we can conclude that their
intentions for this program will be neither "inspiring" nor "empowering," as they claim. It is likely
that this production will not exemplify a positive outlook and direct representation of the values of
Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated. According to the NBCUniversal website (in the "Values"
section), they allege that when filming a television show, they aim to "celebrate diverse cultures and
backgrounds by presenting positive role models, telling diverse success stories, commemorating
heritage, and fostering dialogue on a variety of platforms, to create powerfully engaging content that

appearance if it means looking young again. Throughout the seasons, the ladies and their daughters
have also been filmed going under the knife to receive face lifts, nose jobs, and breast implants. On
season 9, Tamra Judge got her breast implants removed and put back in not even six months later,

The Spy and The Bravo
Spy fiction is defined as a genre of literature that focuses on the activities of spies and the world of
espionage. The genre dates back to the mid to late 19th century. An early example of a spy novel is
by an American novelist James Fenimore Cooper; The spy (1821) and The Bravo (1831). Spy
fiction would mostly be influenced by events that have occurred in the real world such as, the Cold
War, which will be discussed in this essay and how it became to influence the writing of spy fiction
and how it built its popularity in the literature world. The Cold War emerged in 1946 due to the
tension between the western powers (USA, UK, Europe and Canada) and the Soviet Union, which
included the Russian communist. Shortly after the Second World War ended, the Soviet Union
refused to remove its forces in areas of Europe that they have taken over during the war. This caused
the crisis of the Cuban Missile Crisis and Berlin wall, being just some of the issue raised at that
time. The Soviet Union broke up in 1991. The most enduring motif about the Cold War is the
storytelling about spies, agent and assassins living a double life that included secrecy so they could
infiltrate their enemies. The US and USSR spent a large amount of time and money to train spies
and agents during the Cold War to deploy them around the world. The main purpose of espionage is
to gather information from their enemy and as their technology or gadgets were not advanced as it is
now, they would send spies to

Analysis Of The Real Housewife In Popular Culture
The reappropriation of the housewife in popular culture is not only prevalent through fictional media
but has also become popular in reality television. Over the last ten years Bravo's The Real
Housewives Of franchise has grown into somewhat of a phenomenon. This began in 2006 with the
release of The Real Housewives of Orange County which followed the lives of a group of affluent
women living in Southern California as they went about their daily life. Following the world wide
success of the original show six follow up series have since been created, all following the same
premise but set in different cities across America. These series follow the lives of women who live
in gated communities and creates drama in discovering what is hidden behind said gates. The very
title of the show itself is interesting as taking into consideration the women in which the series
revolve around, The Real Housewives appears to be a somewhat paradoxical name. Although some
of the women in the show are married and live within the domestic sphere, the majority of women
have successful careers out with the home and a significant number of them are no longer married or
have never been so. This raises the question, why are women who are not housewives represented as
being so? What does this say about the portrayal of married and indeed of single women within
popular culture? The Real Housewives franchise positions women as being independent, powerful
and successful regardless of being either with

to this, it was considered that more than 1.500 women had disappeared and more than 500 hundred

objective is related to the media and how this phenomenon becomes a well–recognized issue and

Castle Bravo Case Study
The United States launched a nuclear testing program on the Marshall Islands (atolls). The testing
was done primarily on the Islands of Bikini and Eniwetok between 1946 and 1958, resulting in the
contamination of many of the Marshall Island (Takahashi, Fujimori, Simon, Bechtner, Edwards and
Trott, 1999). Consequences of the contamination from the 65 tests were difficult to determine
because of the cumulative nature of radiation exposure (Takahashi, 1999). However, on March 1,
1954, one discharged hydrogen bomb test on the Bikini atoll, named Castle Bravo, stood out more
than the rest (Robbins, J. & Adams, W., Date unknown). Castle Bravo was different from previous
nuclear tests. It took place near ground level with an unexpected shift in the wind, causing an
enormous amount of fallout across atolls as far as 200 miles away (Robbins, Date unknown).
Rongelap (105 miles from Bikini) was reached in 4–6 hours exposing 64 inhabitants, and Ailingnae

Empathy Within Leadership In Leaders Eat Last By Simon Sinek
Empathy is being able to understand and share another person's feelings or emotions. It allows a
team to develop trust and understand others. Leaders who express empathy towards their team
shows that they truly care about the people within their team.
An example of empathy within leadership would be when both the committee chair and members
are understanding and sharing each other's feelings. For example, if a committee chair is aware that
one of his/her member is hosting a big class event that week, the chair would not be putting as much
stress on that member for the week. This is both for the well–being of the member and the
committee in general. Likewise, the committee members would step up in times where the chair is
facing difficulties.
In the book, Sinek shows an example of empathy within leadership through Johny Bravo and his
team's mission. Although he cannot see, Bravo was able to comprehend the anxiety of his team on
the ground. He related to the feelings of his men below using a scene from a movie. By
understanding and relating to the feelings of those below him, Bravo expressed great empathy
towards his team and was able to successfully help his men stay alive.
In Chapter 1 of Leaders Eat Last, Simon Sinek explains the importance of empathy through a
classified mission that occurred on August 16, 2002 in Afghanistan. As twenty–two men travelled
through a valley with a "high–value target", Johnny Bravo and his wingman were flying above thick
clouds, ready to

Rio Bravo River Research Paper

  • 1. Rio Bravo River Research Paper WWF works to secure the correct volume, timing and amount of water in a river so people and nature can thrive. Working across the globe, WWF supports responsible water use and infrastructure. Sometimes that work involves numerous partners across country borders as demonstrated by our work on the Rio Grande. This river, also known as the Rio Bravo, serves as part of the border between the United States and Mexico. Located in the Chihuahuan Desert, this river provides water to some of the fastest–growing urban areas in the United States and provides water to thousands of farms and ranches. However, over the past century, growth in human population–and the agricultural and urban development that accompanies it–has put enormous stress on the region. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Much of this is "hidden" water. For example, it takes 24 gallons of water to make one pound of plastic. Some are more careful with water use and impacts than others. As more companies begin to look for ways to reduce their water use, new science and methods are needed to drive policy changes that will do the most good for water sources. Success Story: Nature Conservancy scientists are helping pioneer new science that can track "hidden" water in a company's supply chain and developing guidelines to reduce water use. CITIES – WATER USE AND IMPACTS Stormwater carries pollution from cities into rivers and lakes, yet most cities do not take sufficient measures to prevent run–off. According to the EPA, 40 percent of US rivers and lakes surveyed do not meet water quality standards. Urban runoff is one of the key culprits. Water quality isn't the only issue. Leaky, aging pipes waste 7 billion gallons of clean drinking water each day in the United States alone. And most cities do not take emergency measures until drought is severe. Success Story: The Nature Conservancy is launching new projects to help cities use less water and reduce run–off. One exciting example is a project in which students in our LEAF program built a rain garden in Camden, NJ." on the internet ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Rio Bravo IV: Lack Of Communication In The HR System 3.1.1. Lack of Human Resource (HR) Structure The keystone of an organisation is its employees. The success of Rio Bravo IV is reflected by the performance of its staff members and how they are managed, including the skill with which they carry out their job function. The talent acquired to manage the operations of the plant, did not have the relevant experience. HR should assist Packard Electric with the recruitment of talented, skilled and engaged people it needs. Armstrong (2012:9) maintains that HR should "support the organisation with achieving its objective by developing and implementing HR strategies that are integrated with business strategies". Top management did not make sure that an evaluation for skilled employees was carried out. 3.2. Operational Strategy 3.2.1. Lack of Communication Good communication is essential for the effectiveness of any organisation and the lack of communication at Rio Bravo proved to be a serious problem. There was a lack of communication between management and the Rio Bravo team, amongst the employees at Rio Bravo and between management and the customer. Certain problems regarding the product could have been avoided if the customer and supplier had good communication channels. If they regarded themselves as "high– quality ... • 13. The Effects Of Neoliberal Ideals On The Portrayal Of Class The Effect of Neoliberal Ideals on the Portrayal of Class in Reality TV Over the past two decades, reality TV has become an increasingly popular genre of media and a staple in entertainment culture. As reality TV has continued to grow, scholars have become interested in examining the societal effects of the messages that it promotes. Thus, scholarly research in the genre of reality TV examines how the use of neoliberal ideals affects the portrayal of socioeconomic class. This field of study was first founded in the research of neoliberalism's presence within the media and reality TV. As time has passed, many scholars have narrowed their examination to the portrayal of socioeconomic class that results from the promotion of neoliberal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unlike George Mantsios, Rennels and Edwards focused their work specifically on reality TV. Each author completed case studies of individual reality TV shows; yet they came to the same conclusion that reality TV presents the poor as individuals, or singular families, that can overcome poverty by working hard and adopting traditional "puritan–esque" values. Here Comes Honey Boo focuses on a southern working–class white family and intentionally emphasizes their lazy lifestyle as well as unconventional behaviors, which implies that their unorthodox lifestyle has lead to their state of poverty (Rennels). Outside of the United States, scholars such as Annabel Tremlett have studied the ways in which class has played into the representation of marginalized minorities, specifically the Gypsy community, in reality TV. Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, "glosses over social conditions and ignores potential for social and cultural change" (Tremlett 324). The immense poverty found within the Gypsy community is attributed to negative aspects of their culture rather than systemic oppression. Narratives in which the men are "drinking and fighting" while the women are "oppressed housewives" are common plotlines that contribute to enforcing Gypsies "otherness" as a reason for their poverty (Tremlett 327). On the other hand, shows such as Extreme Makeover: Home Edition "present families as private units that must be helped, not by public aid, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. Bravo Arts Academy Target Market To start I would like to cover how Bravo Arts Academy defines their Segmenting, Targeting, and positioning. Alli Barnes, the marketing director at Bravo, gave me a very detailed description of the current state of Bravo Arts Academy's IMC plan. To start off Alli described Bravo's target/segment as northern Utah and families. I believe that to go into further detail to more accurately describe Bravo's current target and segmentation you should look at the locations of all three academy locations. All the buildings are located in demographic areas where the dominant demographics are "Middleburg" which are families that are at a middle class income, typically have children, relatively young, family oriented, and are typically have freedom in their budgets. Also,"Up and Coming Families" are families that typically are more diverse, are ambitious, willing to take risks when it comes to financial planning, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are few things that I believe that they could improve on being that Bravo is an all ages academy you would think that we would have students of all ages. Unfortunately, I do not believe that Bravo is zeroing in on getting the maximum potential of their demographic target. The vast majority of our students are between six and seventeen years old. I have personally had a few adults students from 18 all the way to 70 years old. From my experience I do not believe that adults do not want to take lessons; I believe that they are simply unaware of the fact that adults can take lessons. In addition I believe that marketing communications could be refined to target the females of the targeted demographics. Generally the women of the household are the parent that determines the extracurricular activities. I believe that marketing communications directed at gaining new child student would be more effective if Bravo tailored their marketing communications towards ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. Effective Television : Reality TV Vs. Reality Shows In the last decade, television has converted from scripted based programming to reality based programming. Although the content is largely contrived, it's intent is to portray each character in his or her own element. Historically, television and virtually every other form of media have used stereotyping to appeal to a certain demographic. But the use of subtle and more subliminal messages has become less and less common over the years. Furthermore, the blatant differences between scripted television shows and reality television are unparalleled. For example, scripted television's mission is to recreate a reality from the average Americans point of view. Show's that are set in hospitals, fire departments, police departments, or in corporate settings, usually illustrates the diversity and racial equality that exists in those industries. In contrast, reality shows are vastly different in its approach. Titles, for instance, reveals much more about the casting, it's storylines and its overall objection. For instance, Basketball Wives, which is a popular reality show that airs on VH1, it's intent is to reveal the day to day lives of the wives of NBA basketball players. However, the show very rarely focuses on any positive aspects of their daily endeavors, like raising children or promoting charities. But rather, the show promotes alcohol–fueled disputes, merciless and materialistic African American and Latina women. Conversely, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reflects a vastly ... • 25. Colonialism In Teresia What is colonialism? Colonialism is occupying one's land with or without the permission of the natives of the land and later on occupying it with settlers and utilizing it economically. Colonialism began in 1500s by European nations such as France, Portugal, England, and Spain. European nations began to colonize through Americas, India, Middle East, and South East Asia. Part of the logic behind colonialism was to "modernize" the colonized countries. Various European nations had also control over the south pacific islands. The first Oceania colonies were Australia and New Zealand. Soon after, French seized French Polynesia and New Caledonia. Writers such Kathy Jetnil–Kijiner, Teresia Teaiwa, and Dina El Dessouky have spoken about the harsh reality of colonialism in south pacific. Kathy Jentil–Kijiner is a Marshall Islander poet and spoken word artist. Kathy has spoken against the environmental injustice in the Marshall islands, she has spoken out against the nuclear testing in her home islands through her poems. Teresia Teaiwa, a scholar in research of the cultures of the pacific islands. Teresia has also written about the nuclear testing in the pacific islands, Teresia Teaiwa's "Bikinis and other s/pacific n/oceans" is written in an academic manner, targeted mainly for educated audience. • 29. Bravo Company in Black Hearts by Jim Frederick Essay Black Hearts was about the 2005–2006 deployment of the 101st's second brigade's 1–502nd (First Strike) to Iraq. The book more specifically honed in on Bravo Company and their first platoon's decent into complete madness throughout the deployment. The 1–502nd and its commander Lt Col Kunk, was tasked with the mission of getting control of and hold the land in–between the Euphrates and Tigris rivers. Kunk was a particularly difficult man to get along with. He would explode and go on a tirade over just about anything, big or small. This caused serious problems at meetings when he only wanted things his way and would personally attack his commanders who he thought he could not trust. This area had been recently dubbed as the "Triangle of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This cause the men to get a lot less time to relax, taking 8 or more hour guard shifts. The redundant, mundane task of manning the TCPs would make the soldiers restless, tired and complacent; an extremely dangerous combination when in a combat zone. The TCPs would cause a lot of problems throughout the entire deployment. The first catastrophe to hit Bravo Company, and 1st platoon in particular, was the deaths of SSG Nelson and SGT Casica from 3rd SQD. They were both shot point blank while trying to talk to a familiar civilian that they had spoken to previously while manning a TCP. This was the start of the downward spiral that 1st platoon went through during the deployment. Continuing after this incident, the company was still spread very thin, having too many tasks and not enough people. Having to go out on a 20–hour mission and then have to go back out right after you get to the FOB hoping for a bit of relaxing time was a serious moral killer. This didn't not help the fact that 1st platoon already had been taking out bottled anger and remorse for their lost comrades out on insurgent and civilian alike. To them they were all the enemy. The next big blow the 1st platoon was the deaths of 1LT Britt and SPC Lopez. During a routine IED sweep of route sportster, 1LT Britt and his men were taking contact from mortar fire and one remotely launched RPG from across the canal the paralleled the road. • 33. Review Of ' Bravo For The Marshallese ' Pachee Vang ANTH 3800 Exam 1 Essay Bravo for the Marshallese The Marshall Islands has always been that of a peaceful paradise for the Marshallese; that is to say before it was irradiated by nuclear bomb testing by its very own trust partners the United States. The Marshallese thought that giving up their island would help bring peace to the world and since most of the population was converted into Christianity, they were led to believe that they were doing a favor as "Judas's children". What they didn't know was that for the next 12 years, their precious islands were to become the test site of hazardous atomic bomb testing that would change their life and history forever. What was first contentment turned into concealed resentment towards their only source of support. The population that was most affected by the radiation was perhaps the Rongelapese of the Rongelap Atoll. In the perspective of the Marshallese, land is not just something where you inhabit, it is the "essence of life" (Barker, 61). The Marshallese people's culture and existence come from their land. Without the land, they could not carry on their traditional roles. The Marshall Islands is primarily matrilineal meaning that women own land and pass it on to their next generation. The land is where daughters learn from their mothers how to weave and create crafts while sons learn how to fish and navigate from their fathers. But with the evacuation from their homeland, parents could not pass on their knowledge ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 41. Reality Television and The Negative Impact on the... With a sense of voyeurism millions of Americans tune into reality television every night without much thought of the negative message these show project. Since 1948 with the inception of Candid Camera viewers have been able to select between scripted television and reality television changing the nature of at home entertainment. The Millennium marked a change with the Academy of Arts and Science adding the reality genre to the Emmy Awards, celebrating ordinary people in unscripted situations. However with more and more of theses shows glamorizing negative behavior and social situations as well as taking away from scripted television and rewarding bad behavior it is no wonder the Millennial and next generations are said to be doomed. In recent years there has been an evolution in television networks that focus the majority of their programing on reality television. Bravo which is owned by NBC originally focused on performing arts and independent films shifted to a focus on pop culture, fashion and celebrities in 2003. The original content of these shows was ways to better ones self with makeovers, however the birth of the Real Housewives franchise in 2006 brought on a much more negative trend. With the high saturation of "real" women in different area codes now playing out unscripted but seemingly over– produced drama comes the negative propaganda that this is how women are suppose to behave. These shows glamorize vulgarity, materialism, drug addiction, alcohol abuse and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This analogy also applies to the performance of virtual teams. Team Johnny Bravo started out with good intentions, but struggled to find balance working within a Leaderless, Modular design structure. A lack of explicit team norms will impact communication and production efforts. This paper will discuss four operating norms, concerns with a lack of norms, actions to overcome those concerns and norm recommendations for Team Johnny Bravo. Norms "You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else." – Unknown According to Mocha (2007), working anywhere and everywhere is a concept of globalization. Although work is pushing around the world, remote team members need to exhibit a common and acceptable set of behaviors referred to as norms. In his research Settle–Murphy (2012), found that established norms within successful virtual teams, dictated how the group functioned. It is important to note, norms and rules are not one in the same, but they work together to form a team 's identity. an important function of a successful team. Often, the earlier these norms can be established, the better. While rules play a part in establishing norms, norms can also be unspoken where rules are not. Team Johnny Bravo established communication and task norms. Below are four of those norms that operate within the team: 1. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The ambitious British lawyer had just only married Florence Ricardo (nee Campbell), a wealthy widow five months before his death. On April 18th, 1876 Bravo had dinner with his wife and her companion, Mrs. Jane Cannon Cox ("Florence Bravo," n.d.). After dinner Bravo retreated to his room and a few minutes later, Bravo cried out for hot water. The maid and Mrs. Cox rushed to help Bravo and he soon fell into unconsciousness. Three days later Bravo was pronounced dead. The post–mortem in St Thomas's hospital revealed that Bravo died of a massive dose of tartar emetic – 30 to 40 grains (Scriven, 2001) and according to ... Victorian wives knew about this and accepted it, but Florence was no ordinary Victorian woman. She opted the Married Woman's Property Act 1870 which states that woman could hold on to their own money (Married Woman's Property Act, n.d.) and this had enraged Bravo. Her marriage to Bravo was a marriage of convenience rather than love because he could restore her social position and she could bring a substantial amount of money (from her first husband) into the marriage. Not long into the marriage, Bravo again tried to exert control over the household affairs and Florence's money. George Griffiths was discharged by Bravo and that enraged Griffiths because he had just gotten married and his wife was pregnant. Besides that, Griffiths was kicked out from his residence by his former employer. All these reasons are sufficient to trigger Griffiths' urge to harm Bravo out of grievance. Griffiths had even predicted Bravo's death in a few months time (Sherwin, 2004). Other than that, Ruddick discovered the record of Sales of Poison Register that proves Griffiths had purchased four ounces of tartar emetic to use on the horses (as cited in Ruddick, 2001, pp. 124). • 62. The Nuclear Bomb Of Hiroshima And Nagasaki Who is good and who is Evil? Many of us go through life thinking that whatever we do must be what is good, never questioning authority and blindly following a government that is thought to be incapable of doing evil. After World War II, many Americans felt a sense of nationalism. They were proud of the fact that their military destroyed Nazi Germany and Imperialist Japan. However this euphoric patriotism can often blind the holder. In August of 1945, the United States Military dropped two nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. There were noble reasons for dropping the bombs, but surely destroying two entire cities questions the integrity of the United States. So again I ask, who is good and who is evil? After the events of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the United States was eager to learn more about the impacts of nuclear devices on the environment. The United States set up several nuclear bomb tests on the Marshall Islands in which they properly planned for. However one test, code named Operation Castle, went horribly wrong. Scientists involved in the test claim they expected an explosive yield of four to six megatons, but instead a yield of fifteen resulted. For reference, this is one thousand times greater than the yields of both the Hiroshima and the Nagasaki nuclear bombs (Huard). Many people believe this was merely a lapse in judgement, however I believe there is evidence that the United States government intentionally created a disaster in order to study the effects of ... Many strive to keep the innocence they are born with, and plenty others spend a lifetime attempting to regain the innocence they have lost with age. In the following photos, innocence is a common theme, which each photographer approaches in a unique way. There is a dull and unsettling truth behind the innocent demonstration of young ladies acting much more mature than their age. Manuel Alvarez Bravo is one of the premier figures of modern photography and the main photographer among the immense Mexican artists of the twentieth century. In The Daughter of the Dancers, Bravo illustrates the idea of youthfulness on the verge of loosing its innocence. Sally Mann, a photographer from the 1980s– 90s, caught a reflection of grown–up moves inside the innocence and youth of adolescents in Candy Cigarette through her utilization of organization, field point, and technique. In 1985 National Geographic photographer Steve McCurry went through Afghan towns concentrating on the evacuees and recording their hardships. The Afghan Girl is a classical image of lost innocence; the girl was forced to grow up way to fast. Her innocence did not survive, but she did. The innocence of children is secured by the individuals who adore them with the goal that they grow up as actually unaffected by preventable undesirable contributions as could be expected under the circumstances. Operation Crossroads was a nuclear test that was held during the summer of 1946 at Bikini Atoll intended to study the effect of nuclear weapon. There were a total of three tests, Able, Baker, and Charlie. The first test was codenamed Able. The 23 kiloton bomb was dropped from the B–29 Superfortress Dave's Dream at July 1, 1946. The bomb detonated at an altitude of 520 feet and 1,500 to 2,000 off from the target ships. The second test was codenamed Baker. The 23 kiloton bomb was put 90 feet underwater. The bomb caused many unusual phenomena that a conference was held two months later to define new terms for use in descriptions and analysis. There was originally a third test codenamed "Charlie", but it was canceled due to the inability of the United States to remove the target ships after test Baker. Throughout the seasons, the ladies and their daughters have also been filmed going under the knife to receive face lifts, nose jobs, and breast implants. On season 9, Tamra Judge got her breast implants removed and put back in not even six months later, while Vicki Gunvalson received multiple operations to alter the look and shape of her face. • 119. The Real Housewives Of Atlanta Television has been one the most influential pieces of technology as a source for entertainment. During the earliest days of Televisions introduction into society, there were always shows highlighting the portrayals of mothers cooking and cleaning their homes for their husbands and children. Although, as time moved on, television and the shows that were channeled on it took a dramatic turn, leaving the days of drama free entertainment as a vast memory. Today, however, when a person turns on a television and flips through the vastness of channels on their cable network to eventually a channel like Bravo, the screen goes on to glisten and proceeds to portraying ritzy socialite women dealing with their everyday lives as "housewives". The Real Housewives of Atlanta deals with the everyday lives of modern–day housewives living in Atlanta, Georgia. Upon thought of these women and their family life, the reality series displays to its viewers, that practically a significant majority of family life involved in a modern day generation is dramatic, full of misconceptions and misrepresentations of how people are perceived, and that fame is can be a problem for family life. Reality shows have the allure of garnering the interest of millions of people around the world with the promise of authenticity and representations of actuality. • 127. The Spy and The Bravo Spy fiction is defined as a genre of literature that focuses on the activities of spies and the world of espionage. The genre dates back to the mid to late 19th century. An early example of a spy novel is by an American novelist James Fenimore Cooper; The spy (1821) and The Bravo (1831). Spy fiction would mostly be influenced by events that have occurred in the real world such as, the Cold War, which will be discussed in this essay and how it became to influence the writing of spy fiction and how it built its popularity in the literature world. The Cold War emerged in 1946 due to the tension between the western powers (USA, UK, Europe and Canada) and the Soviet Union, which included the Russian communist. Shortly after the Second World War ended, the Soviet Union refused to remove its forces in areas of Europe that they have taken over during the war. This caused the crisis of the Cuban Missile Crisis and Berlin wall, being just some of the issue raised at that time. The Soviet Union broke up in 1991. The most enduring motif about the Cold War is the storytelling about spies, agent and assassins living a double life that included secrecy so they could infiltrate their enemies. The US and USSR spent a large amount of time and money to train spies and agents during the Cold War to deploy them around the world. The main purpose of espionage is to gather information from their enemy and as their technology or gadgets were not advanced as it is now, they would send spies to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 131. Analysis Of The Real Housewife In Popular Culture The reappropriation of the housewife in popular culture is not only prevalent through fictional media but has also become popular in reality television. Over the last ten years Bravo's The Real Housewives Of franchise has grown into somewhat of a phenomenon. This began in 2006 with the release of The Real Housewives of Orange County which followed the lives of a group of affluent women living in Southern California as they went about their daily life. Following the world wide success of the original show six follow up series have since been created, all following the same premise but set in different cities across America. These series follow the lives of women who live in gated communities and creates drama in discovering what is hidden behind said gates. The very title of the show itself is interesting as taking into consideration the women in which the series revolve around, The Real Housewives appears to be a somewhat paradoxical name. Although some of the women in the show are married and live within the domestic sphere, the majority of women have successful careers out with the home and a significant number of them are no longer married or have never been so. This raises the question, why are women who are not housewives represented as being so? What does this say about the portrayal of married and indeed of single women within popular culture? The Real Housewives franchise positions women as being independent, powerful and successful regardless of being either with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 139. Castle Bravo Case Study The United States launched a nuclear testing program on the Marshall Islands (atolls). The testing was done primarily on the Islands of Bikini and Eniwetok between 1946 and 1958, resulting in the contamination of many of the Marshall Island (Takahashi, Fujimori, Simon, Bechtner, Edwards and Trott, 1999). Consequences of the contamination from the 65 tests were difficult to determine because of the cumulative nature of radiation exposure (Takahashi, 1999). However, on March 1, 1954, one discharged hydrogen bomb test on the Bikini atoll, named Castle Bravo, stood out more than the rest (Robbins, J. & Adams, W., Date unknown). Castle Bravo was different from previous nuclear tests. It took place near ground level with an unexpected shift in the wind, causing an enormous amount of fallout across atolls as far as 200 miles away (Robbins, Date unknown). Rongelap (105 miles from Bikini) was reached in 4–6 hours exposing 64 inhabitants, and Ailingnae (80 miles from Bikini) with 18 inhabitants (Robbins, Date unknown). I reminded him earlier in the week to fix those vehicles. Prior to this SSG Jones (B. Co Head Mechanic) was killed causing a delay in the upkeep of our vehicles. 3. First Course of Action: Verbally counsel 1LT Urbanks. During this counseling we will discuss the dangerous of the actions he took. Dead lined vehicles receive those classification because they are found incapable of completing a mission a. Taking those three vehicle to conduct the support mission put his soldiers and the mission at risk b. However, for 1LT Urbanks the mission was his first priority regardless of the setbacks. • 151. Empathy Within Leadership In Leaders Eat Last By Simon Sinek Empathy is being able to understand and share another person's feelings or emotions. It allows a team to develop trust and understand others. Leaders who express empathy towards their team shows that they truly care about the people within their team. An example of empathy within leadership would be when both the committee chair and members are understanding and sharing each other's feelings. For example, if a committee chair is aware that one of his/her member is hosting a big class event that week, the chair would not be putting as much stress on that member for the week. This is both for the well–being of the member and the committee in general. Likewise, the committee members would step up in times where the chair is facing difficulties. In the book, Sinek shows an example of empathy within leadership through Johny Bravo and his team's mission. Although he cannot see, Bravo was able to comprehend the anxiety of his team on the ground. He related to the feelings of his men below using a scene from a movie. By understanding and relating to the feelings of those below him, Bravo expressed great empathy towards his team and was able to successfully help his men stay alive. In Chapter 1 of Leaders Eat Last, Simon Sinek explains the importance of empathy through a classified mission that occurred on August 16, 2002 in Afghanistan. As twenty–two men travelled through a valley with a "high–value target", Johnny Bravo and his wingman were flying above thick clouds, ready to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It's test series was conducted by the United States on the Bikini Atoll, and Marshall Islands. It was part of a series called Operation Castle. It was detonated on March 1, 1954. It was a major disaster because it is believed to be the strongest nuclear bomb the U.S has ever conducted. It is believed that it was a thousand times stronger than the bomb we dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki back in 1945. The reason people should believe this was a man made disaster is because it was the biggest nuclear bomb that the U.S has constructed. It had about fifteen megatons of tnt. That's a lot!
