2. For my questionnaire I wanted to have the same amount of each age and the same of each gender to try
and avoid there being any bias in my results.
3. Even though the genders are equal there is still a clear winner
when it comes to the genre and this did surprise me as
stereotypically romance films are favoured by females yet there
were still a fair few boys who chose romance as their favourite.
Even if it does go against the stereotype it works in my favour.
I asked a few of the guys who said they preferred
romance why that was the case…
‘its easy to watch you know, no stress
and don’t have to watch it intensely if
I was to go to the toilet I could come
back and still get what was going on.’
I feel happy
after watching
them
For the hot
girls ha ha
People mock chick flicks
but some actually have
really good storylines
They’re relaxing
and happy who
doesn’t like being
relaxed and happy
As expected the majority of the people said that they do enjoy
watching romance films and as expected when I did the genre
break down of who said yes and who said no the
overwhelming majority of the yes answers came from
females. My answers are starting to show a pattern in who
would be in my preferred target audience….( females.)
4. The reason I wanted to ask this question was so I could then
look at the trailers for these films as well as their posters and
take note of what they have done and in doing so I can take
some hints and tips when it comes to making my own. I was
surprised that the Shakespeare in Love was chosen as the top
film by the most amount of people as it is a much older film
(came out in 1998) compared to most of the other films chosen
and as a fair portion of the participants were born around then
its hard to say that they would have seen it advertised, still I
shall look in to it.
I asked this question to confirm my own opinion but in doing so
it will help me chose my colour pallet when I’m making my poster
and magazine front. Pink and red were chosen equally which I
expected however the one person who chose mint I didn’t expect
but never the less I will take their view into account when
creating my project.
5. Because this is such a broad question it was hard to control so
in the end before they gave their answer I asked them if it was
one of the trailers I already had been told and that seemed to
jog their memories and it turned out to be one of the films id
mentioned or they simply could not remember or had not
watched one for awhile and if that was the case they were put
in the N/A group too.
Personally one of the key aspects of a film trailer is the titles
and credits so I wanted to see if the audience were able to
remember when the title was placed. I was slightly
disappointed with the fact that a larger majority didn’t
remember when but I was glad that over half did and could
remember whereabouts too. This will help me when I come to
placing my title in my trailer.
6. My final question was asked for the same sort of reason as the previous one, credits are
important and if the participants could remember when the film was supposed to come
out it meant that the credits left an impression on the viewer. Over half managed to
remember (roughly) when the film was due to be out so I will be looking into the
placing of the date and how they presented it in their trailers for when I decide to make
my own trailer.
