Summary
Although generally accepted as a necessity and in spite of the massive investments, Edge Computing fails to
deliver on its promises, just like other big promises (IOT, Smart Homes, AI/ML).
IOT remained nothing but a remote switch and knob, AI is dependent on the cloud to be smarter than a mouse or
cat and only the deep pockets of corporations can afford current Edge Computing solutions.
X86 architecture, the basis for most computing appliances, has known weaknesses and limitations, wasting
substantial compute power with processing I/O and other system maintenance tasks that can be very well done
with much less costly processors, like mainframes do.
For 40 years, The Moore Law, which covered them up for this “birth defect” but this is not true anymore.

and gateway), accessible from any BYOD; Configured for Consumer IOT, Smart XYZ, IIOT, or Edge Computing.

Revenue Model, Customers

Note: Windows PC-OEMs (Dell, HP, Lenovo, Acer, Asus) have huge incentives to offer PDC as PC replacement
as it allows them to 20x their profits making same 20% profit margin as Apple makes.
• Plan A1 – B2B (ODM model – 20%): Provide “white label” PDC systems to VAR’s;
• Plan A2 (10% now much in the future) – Applications and Services [TBD];
• Plan B – B2C (10% and only if Plan A fails) – PDC’s to end users – 1% market penetration enough for unicorn.

While any x86 based design can triple its performance using MobilFlex technology, we will focus first on the likely early
adopters: “Consumer Oriented IOT” ($46B in 2018, @143B in 2025) and “fog computing” ($18B in 2022)
