"Storytelling the most powerful way to put ideas into the world today," according to master storyteller Robert McKee. This power point is about why story matters in a world of constant change and so much information to absorb at ever-increasing speed, and the importance of learning the art of story for maximum impact on the listener. Presented at the Applied Improvisation Network annual conference in Montreal on Sept. 28, 015.

Anyone familiar with the Bible and Aesop’s fables already knows that stories are the oldest persuasive tool since the dawn of time. And now everybody from the The Wall Street Journal to LinkedIn is saying that storytelling will be the number one business skill needed in the next five years. That’s why you should run, don’t walk, to see the hands-on business storytelling workshop with Cynthia Hartwig, fiction writer and co-founder of Two Pens. Over the course of her career in advertising and social media, Cynthia Hartwig has honed the act of telling stories into a fun and practical art. She’ll lead you in a series of practice-makes-perfect exercises that will help you to persuade, excite, sell and sway people to your point of view. You’ll see how stories can be used in all kinds of business settings to communicate and connect with employees, customers, colleagues, partners, suppliers, and the media. You’ll learn the mechanics of telling a story with a beginning that hooks you, to a middle that builds tension, to a satisfying end. You’ll learn how to weave rich information (even numbers) with personal insights and emotional power and then experience the thrill of having an audience remember what you’ve said. Many writing exercises are included to help you tap into the mind’s unique hard-wiring that can create a story out of almost any experience.

The idea is the heart of your story. Knowing it keeps you on target to complete the book and succeed. Idea is not story. Being able to state your idea in one sentence is key. We often spend an entire day at our writing workshop getting the four attendees to pin this one sentence down, but that's how important it is!

When you go home at the end of a busy day at work, and your partner asks how your day was, do you talk about the percentage increase in your productivity, or how many emails you sent and received? No, you tell a story. You might talk about the amazing conversation you had with someone over lunch, or give an update on your coworker who is having some health issues. Why are stories so powerful? What is it about the human brain and how it works that makes a story so critical to successful fundraising? In this keynote, Leah digs into the brains of our donors, and shares research and insights into the role of narrative in guiding donor behavior. Using everything learned throughout the day, Leah then conducted a live (and authentic) story-gathering interview and, together, the audience created a fundraising appeal for one lucky organization in the room. Keynote address, and live story gathering, at the AFP Westchester NY Chapter National Philanthropy Day conference on November 13, 2018

Our Rotary story is our most powerful tool. Without an interesting narrative, the motivation that drives others to support our work is lost. Think about your own club, and how your projects and events fit within the bigger story of Rotary. This session will focus on applying storytelling and marketing principles to help you tell your story with more consistency and greater impact — leading to better outcomes for your projects and events.

Every person has powerful, personal stories within them that can be their secret weapon in gaining supporters and creating change. But too often leaders feel overwhelmed when it comes to telling their personal stories. What should they include or exclude? What is compelling and what is clutter? How much sharing is too much sharing? How to choose which story to tell? Your powerful, personal story is within you.

While single melodic lines are simpler and more straightforward, they still allow for creativity and emotional expression. Meanwhile, the simultaneous occurrence of multiple melodic lines can create a more intricate and complex musical structure that challenges the listener's ear and engages their attention.

Wizards are very useful for creating a good user experience. In all businesses, interactive sessions are most beneficial. To improve the user experience, wizards in Odoo provide an interactive session. For creating wizards, we can use transient models or abstract models. This gives features of a model class except the data storing. Transient and abstract models have permanent database persistence. For them, database tables are made, and the records in such tables are kept until they are specifically erased.
