Q&A
E. How can I subscribe to Sponsored Products?
Log on to seller center, go on promotions and select Sponsored Products, click on Boost your visibility and select
a plan.
F. What is the cost of this service?
You will be charged an amount each time someone clicks on your product Sponsored. This pricing model is
considered performance based – if no one clicks, you still get visibility but you don’t pay anything.
Three different plans will be offered to you when you first connect and they are:
•
•
•
Basic – 8,500 NGN (425 clicks).
Advanced – 17,000 NGN (945 clicks).
Pro – 32,000 NGN (2125 clicks).
You will receive a credit of 8,500 NGN of free credit for your first purchase.
G. What distinguishes the plans apart from the clicks?
The highest amount of the plan you purchase, the lowest you will pay per click. This is why we advise you to start
buying the most expensive plan once you are convinced with the solution (you can test the first time with the
cheaper one).
H. Is the bonus added the next day or on the same day I purchase a plan?
The bonus of 8,500 NGN is added the same day the plan is purchased .
I. Is there any other plan other than the three plans?
We don’t have any other plan for now. If you do need a different plan from these three; please let us know.

Q&A
O. What should I do before starting a campaign?
Before you start paying to send people to your product pages, we suggest you make sure to maximize the
conversion rate of SKUs you plan to promote by checking that:
i.
ii.
iii.
The pages look great (high quality images, great product descriptions).
The offer is good (your price is competitive, you have good reviews/grades).
You have enough stock to make more sales than usual.
P. How to start a campaign?
Select the SKUs you want to promote. Green means product is boosted, red means the product is not.
Q. How should I set the campaign duration?
Generally, we recommend creating campaigns with no end date so that you can run a campaign indefinitely
(by choosing “ when I stop it” as the end campaign options). You may pause or stop a campaign at any time.
The minimum duration for a campaign is one day. You can even set a campaign for the future.
R. Can I deactivate my campaign?
You can turn off your whole campaign by clicking edit on the left hand side of the page.

Q&A
S. How should I manage my campaigns?
We suggest you give all of your Products an equal opportunity to perform, meaning that you promote all of
them for 3-4 weeks so you can collect data on how they perform. Usually 2,000 clicks for a product will give
you relevant data on how it will perform on the long term (CTR,CR and ACoS). Then you can let the data guide
you through the process and help you decide which Products to promote. This is the data you will have access
to:
(i)
(ii)
(iii)
(iv)
How many visitors see them.
How many visitors click your Products.
What is their CTR (click rate).
How many of them eventually buy the product (what is their conversion rate).
You can track each product’s performance and compare it to your other Products performance :
(a)
(b)
(c)
Is it doing worse than it did 2 months ago? What does that mean?
Is the competition becoming stronger or weaker?
Should I change the price?
Based on the results of your campaign you should take these actions:
(i) Exclude the SKUs that don’t deliver. Later on we will elaborate how you measure how well it works.
(ii) Structure your campaign – split your campaigns by categories, make sure similar Products are in the same
campaign and set bids for each campaign according to your ACoS etc.
T. What is ACoS?
ACoS stands for Average Cost of Sale. It represents how much money you spent for every naira you earned

Q&A
U. What should I do if I get a bad ACoS?
If your campaign is getting a high ACoS, it means the product doesn’t get enough purchases – it can be a
matter of price, reviews, features, branding etc.. In this case, we suggest to check the competing Products in
the category and see if your Products are competitive (price, features, reviews etc.). If there is nothing you
can do to change any of these factors, we suggest you exclude these Products from your campaign or
exclude keywords and URL’s that display these Products ads.
You will usually get better results when promoting Products that have lower competition or when your product
has sustainable advantages on the competitors (great ranking, reviews, special features or great value for
money).
V. What are impressions?
An impression is when a customer views a Sponsored product. Each time a different customer views a
product, it is counted as an impression whether the product is clicked on or not.
If your campaign is getting low impressions, there are usually 2 main possible reasons:
(1) The competition in your product category is very high
(2) The product is not that popular and there are not many shoppers searching for it.
What you should do to improve your performance:
(i) Make sure that your Products descriptions are relevant to the categories that you are targeting and the
titles are compatible.
(ii) Try to promote as many Products as possible in the category. By doing that, you can increase the
probability that one of your Products will be chosen to appear in the promoted Products places.

Q&A
W. What is CTR?
CTR or Click Through Rate is the ratio of customers who click on a Sponsored product to the total number of
user who viewed the product.
X. What is CR?
CR or Conversion Rate is the number of customers who have purchased your Sponsored product divided by
the total number of clicks on that product.
What you should do to improve your CR
(i) Make sure the product pages looks great (great images and product description).
(ii) Make sure the price of the product is competitive.
Y. When should I exclude keywords and URLs?
Here are 2 examples for how and why to use negative keywords:
(i) Lets say that you are selling large screen televisions. You don’t want shoppers who are looking for a small
screen TV to see and click your ads. You can do it by choosing negative keywords such as 39”, 30”, etc.
(ii) Lets say that you are selling iPhone covers – if you see that your ads appear when people are searching
for iPhones, you could exclude the keyword “iPhone” and use only “iPhone covers”.
Z. If two of my competitors Boost similar Products, which one will appear?
At the initial stage equal amount of views will be given to the Sponsored Products of vendors using the service
on the site. For example, if there are 10 vendors in that category and 1000 customers view the page, each
vendor will get 100 views. Subsequently, the conversion rate will determine how often a product will be
displayed.
