Removing old paint systems
Decorators have to remove paint by using:
• A hot air gun
• Liquid chemical stripper
What else could a decorator use to strip paint?

Abrasive papers
Abrasive papers come in different types and grades:
• Aluminium oxide
• Silicone carbide
• Glass paper
• Grades range from P40 to P240 and higher
• The lower the number the rougher the paper

These defects are found in timber, metal and plaster surfaces:
• Knots, splits, open joints, resin exudation, end grain, corrosion,
