This document compares healthcare in the Industrial Age to the Information Age. In the Industrial Age, healthcare was professional-focused and encouraged tertiary and secondary care over primary care and self-care. The Information Age encourages individual self-care, friends/family support, self-help networks, and professionals as facilitators rather than authorities. The document suggests we are currently in a transition period between these two models of healthcare.
