This is my painted picture for Meme & Co for the year 2018. It is a manifesto for my business and brand, 3 years from today. By releasing it publicly, I am holding myself accountable in order to make it my reality. I have over 18 years experience in sales, marketing and advertising, I climbed the corporate ladder and was committed to my career but my priorities changed when I had my children. My life became a struggle, trying to find a balance between wanting to retain my worth and independence in the workforce without compromising my ability to be a present and attentive mother. I found myself working in an intimidating and ultimately soul-destroying environment. It stripped me of my self esteem and my confidence; it was the strength of my children and the support of my husband that gave me the resolve to be resilient, to stand up for myself and stand up for my values. With a strong resolve never to go back to the corporate world as I had known and through commitment, perseverance and a passion to succeed, I found as one door closed behind me other doors opened in front of me. It was this journey that gave me the motivation and the drive to create an opportunity for other women who want to be in control, who value their independence, who want to be empowered. My drive to keep a balance between work and my family life ultimately resulted in `taking a leap’ into the unknown and embarking on a personal journey of self reflection, new challenges and personal growth. The name Meme & Co came from the name my son William use to call his sister Aimee when he couldn't pronounce it properly `Meme'. The Co represents William, my other daughter Jessica and my husband Tim. On a business level the Co represents all the partnerships connected to the company that Meme & Co has been built on. 2. Meme & Co is a social e-commerce business opportunity
for women with an entrepreneurial spirit, selling design-
led on-trend jewellery and accessories via in-person Pop
Up Shops and an online personalized virtual storefront
called a `me-store'.
Meme & Co allows women to work for themselves,
providing greater freedom and flexibility whilst having
access to resources and a support system. Meme & Co
offer a low risk self-employment opportunity supported
by a community of like-minded women to assist and
support them in their business venture.
WHAT I DO

3. Through lessons learnt on my journey, I empower and
inspire women to strive for greater workplace freedom
and flexibility, to live with passion and purpose, to have
courage and confidence to step outside their comfort
zone. I am a thought-leader in finding freedom in
business and living with passion and purpose.

4. I'm a guest speaker at engagements that are strongly
aligned with Meme & Co company values of living with
passion and purpose, having the courage and confidence
to step outside your comfort zone and go after your
dreams, not being afraid to stand out from the crowd.

5. I have passion, I have purpose. I am energised, I am
invigorated, I am living my dream, I am in control of my
destiny.
I am making a difference and I am able to give back to
others. I have taken my life experiences (both negative
and positive) to create a business for other women who
want what I want...freedom and flexibility to work
around my personal commitments, not someone else's.

10. Meme & Co operates an independent sales force who
hold Pop Up Shops in NZ and Australia. Product is
also sold via Meme & Co website and Brand
Ambassador `me-stores’ to customers nationally and
internationally.

11. As a result of our passionate Brand Ambassadors, a
loyal customer base, partnerships, media activity,
our coaching and mentorship programme plus
speaking engagements I attend both locally and
abroad, Meme & Co brand and reputation continues
to gain strength and our revenue increases.
As we gain a strong foothold in the market, we
continue to look for opportunities to give back via
charitable organisations that align with our beliefs.

12. I lead by example, I am prepared to roll up my
sleeves and get stuck in. By being involved in all
aspects of the business at inception and through it's
initial growth I understand the processes and
systems that are required to be successful.
Through my own learnings and having had the ability
to analyse, fine tune and implement I am able to
endorse our best practise.
LEADERSHIP

13. I appreciate how powerful passionate and
empowered people are; the importance of being
supportive, of providing tools and resources and
encouraging two way communication.
I use insight and deliberation to identify a way
forward. I have a steely determination whilst being
friendly and approachable. I am driven and diligent
but also appreciate the importance of taking time
out to spend with those we love, doing things that
invigorate and replenish us.

14. I take time out with my friends and family to catch
up over a coffee or wine. We go on holiday's
together to relax and unwind and appreciate each
others company away from the usual busyness of
everyday life.

15. I surround myself with other like-minded people,
people who stimulate me, who believe in what I do
and why I'm doing it, who support and encourage me.
We network, strategise and collaborate to help each
others growth.

16. I have contacts within the media industry who I
connect with regularly, I keep them updated on our
business growth and our opportunities. We feature
in business and women's interest publications, I am
interviewed as a thought-leader on the benefits of
striving for greater freedom in business and living
with passion and purpose.

17. We have a wealth of resources, training and coaching
on-hand for our Brand Ambassadors to ensure they
are well supported and working towards a common
vision. The tools we provide empower them to be
successful in their business venture and feel like an
integral part of the company. We encourage two way
communications.
SYSTEMS

18. End-to-end customer service is our strength, our
brand and it's perception in the market are
extremely important to us. We make sure the
customer experience is second to none and as a
result we have loyal repeat customers who rave
about us to their friends. If there are ever any
customer issues we work to resolve them promptly.

19. My advise, learnings and knowledge I share via
digital offerings and speaking engagements are well
received. I inspire other women to chase their
dreams, to have the courage and confidence to step
outside their comfort zone. This leads to further
growth of my business and continues to add to my
credibility as a thought leader on finding freedom in
business and living with passion and purpose.

20. We continue to refine our systems to ensure we are
operating at our optimum level, we are efficient,
reliable, productive and in control. Where possible,
our systems are automated.
Everything we do is considered. In terms of
scalability, we never plan for the short-term but
always for long term growth.

21. I am grateful for a team of like-minded people who
all subscribe to and are supportive of our company
values. The team vision is to continue to build our
brand in the market, to continue to challenge
ourselves and be open to opportunities. Although
our focus is on growth we never lose sight of the
importance of enjoying the journey and having fun
along the way.
MY TEAM

22. I feel blessed each and every day. I get to spend
quality time with my children and my husband whilst
being passionate about my work and what we are
achieving.
For the life stage of my children, my pleasures are
simple.
MY DAILY LIFE

23. I happily wake to the abundance of my children.
Once at school I take time out for myself, a walk
along the beach with our dog or go for a run to get a
clear perspective on what I need to achieve for the
day. I spend a few hours working then catch up for
coffee or lunch with clients/people I’m collaborating
with/team members. The afternoon is spent with my
laptop sitting outdoors enjoying the winter or
summer sun before picking the kids up from school.
The afternoon is spent with the children and the
evening with my husband whilst enjoying a glass of
wine.

24. I have a balanced diet and exercise regularly, I live a
fit, healthy and active lifestyle. I take pride in my
appearance. I allocate time daily around my children
and husband to be free of work interruptions, to
turn off from technology so I am truly present in
the moment.
INCORPORATING WELLNESS & BALANCE

25. I have a couple of mentors that provide valuable
insight, keep me focused on the bigger picture and
on-track to achieving my goals. One of my mentors
provides focus purely on the strategic direction of
the business, my other mentor provides clarity and
accountability to ensure I maintain the lifestyle I
set out to achieve.
MY MENTORS

26. I was fortunate to meet my partner in crime when I
was 15; we have grown up together, travelled
together, have 3 amazing children together. He is
my rock, he is my support crew, he is my biggest fan.
RELATIONSHIPS

27. My family and extended family are incredibly
important to me, we are very close, they accept me
for who I am and they love me no matter what. We
have a lot of fun together, we go on holidays
together, we continue to create magical memories
together.
I have met some amazing people over the years, a
few remain by my side, but I am always open to
creating new friendships that add further depth and
meaning to my life.
