I. OBJECTIVES
Objectives must be met over the week and connected to the curriculum standards. To meet the objectives necessary
procedures must be followed and if needed, additional lesson and exercises and remedial activities may be done for
developing content knowledge and competencies. these are assessed using Formative Assessment Strategies. Valuing
objectives support the learning of content and competencies and enable students to significance and enjoy the learning
process. Weekly objectives shall be derived from the curriculum guide.

1.1 Explain the importance of general safety in a carpentry shop;
1.2 Perform the safe handling of hand tool and power tools
1.3 Enumerate and discuss the use of the different personal protective equipment in a carpentry shop and
1.4 Identify and correctly use the personal protective equipment to be used following the task to be
performed.

the fastest way possible. But
we need to acquire specific
knowledge and skills in
handling both tools and

can damage the equipment

OBJECTIVES Objectives must be met over the week and connected to the curriculum standards. To meet the objectives necessary procedures must be followed and if needed, additional lesson and exercises and remedial activities may be done for developing content knowledge and competencies. these are assessed using Formative Assessment Strategies. Valuing objectives support the learning of content and competencies and enable students to significance and enjoy the learning process. Weekly objectives shall be derived from the curriculum guide. A. Content Standard Safety and Housekeeping in the Carpentry Shop B. Performance Standard PRACTICE OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY PROCEDURES IN CARPENTRY C. Learning Competency/Objectives 500311108 After going through this lesson, the learners can: 1.1 Explain the importance of general safety in a carpentry shop; 1.2 Perform the safe handling of hand tool and power tools 1.3 Enumerate and discuss the use of the different personal protective equipment in a carpentry shop and 1.4 Identify and correctly use the personal protective equipment to be used following the task to be performed. II. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson Teachers will ask the students to recall their knowledge about their Carpentry subject during Grade 11. Establishing a purpose for the lesson (motivation) The teacher will conduct a game test, to diagnose their knowledge with the new topic by identifying tool that is presented in the presentation. Actual Performance Type of Activity: #1. Identify various PPE, give the importance of PPE and use of the PPE in Carpentry Shop #2. Draw PPE equipment #3. Draw different hand tools #4. Draw different power machine tools C. Presenting examples/Instances of the new lesson (Presentation) The teacher will show some realia of the tools and equipment and discuss the proper safety handling of tools by presenting it with powerpoint. D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills # 1 (MODELING) By the guide of powerpoint presentation . the teacher will now discussing the proper lesson to meet the objectives: What are the general safety procedures in the carpentry shop? how to handle hand tool with

Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills # 2 (GUIDED PRACTICE ) After the successful discussion: The student will Perform safety in handling tools The student will Perform safety in handling power machine The student will Perform the used of Personal Protective Equipment Actual Performance Type of Activity: #1. Identify various PPE, give the importance of PPE and use of the PPE in Carpentry Shop #2. Draw the PPE equipment #3. Draw different hand tools #4. Draw different power machine tools F. Developing mastery (leads to Formative Assessment 3) The student now able to identify the importance of maintaining general safety and housekeeping inside the carpentry shop. G. Finding practical application of concepts and skills in daily living Student learned the importance of safety procedural in every tools for the sake of their safeness and also to produce an accurate projects. Because for every specific job there is specific tools. They can apply this skill in their every lives especially in their future home. H. Making generalizations and abstractions about the lesson Safety in carpentry shop is everybody’s concern. Hand tools, power tools and machinery are helpful in accurately doing our task in the fastest way possible. But we need to acquire specific knowledge and skills in handling both tools and machinery. An error in handling tools and machinery can damage the equipment
