7. With new refineries becoming more complex they also become more
flexible allowing refiners to adapt and expand their refineries in
future years.
The latest technologies and processes for the conversion of heavy oil
into feedstocks, light and specialty products will be under discussion
including:
• Alkylation and polymerisation
• Isomerisation
CASE STUDY 1: An evaluation of the challenges faced in the steam EOR pilot in
the Aruma Reservoir, the shallowest hydrocarbon bearing reservoir in the
Awali _eld containing very viscous tar and bitumen. Case study presenting
early pilot findings.
CASE STUDY 2: The Heavy oil recovery via thermal methods has been
identified as a key growth area in the Middle East. The recently commissioned
Large Scale Thermal Pilot North Project is a key project in the EOR arena. This
case study will cover the lessons learnt and resulting best practices from this
successful startup including: a) engineering standardisation b) modularisation
c) operational flexibility d) unique contracting strategy between client and
contractor.
CASE STUDY 3: Using one of Middle East’s most abundant resources,
Oman has been spearheading solar EOR projects since 2012.
With almost three years of continuous success, Petroleum Development
Oman (PDO) and GlassPoint Solar are beginning work on their next solar
EOR project, Miraah, which is expected to be one of the largest solar project
in the world. Real life performance and operational data from the existing
project will showcase how Miraah can reduce Oman’s EOR dependence on
gas with solar energy and meet Oman’s steam demands for their heavy oil
projects.

PAYMENT: Confirmation of registration and invoice for download (if applicable) will be sent immediately after completion of the online registration. Manual registration forms require 4 working days to process and
confirmation and invoice will be sent.
Payment is due 14 days from the invoice date, or immediately when the booking is made within one month of the event. If payment has not been received before the start of the event, delegates will be refused entry.
We recommend you check with your finance department that payment has been made before travelling.

EARLY BIRD RATES: All ‘Early Bird’ and other discounts require full payment before any cut-off date in order to receive the discount. Should payment not be made, a subsequent charge will be applied to bring the

CANCELLATION POLICY: Made within 48 hours of receipt of the completed registration form will be eligible for a full refund. Received in writing more than one month prior to the start of the event will be refunded less
a 50% cancellation fee.
