The Sadler Commission of 1917
( Calcutta University commission
Background
Sadler Commission
of 1917
As we Know, Lord Curzon introduced
some administrative restructuring of the
university education by appointing a
University Education Commission in
1902. Still, the problems related with
university education in India were not
solved. This and some other All
circumstances caused for the the
formation of the second university
commission. i.e., Calcutta University
Commission, 1917.
Features
Sadler Commission
of 1917
Though it was appointed for
submitting a report on university
education, it submitted a
comprehensive report by including
recommendations on secondary
education as well, as the nature of
secondary education provided to
the students would affect the
higher education
