Mention criteria that funders have - this details what they want to fund and whether your project will be eligible or not.
Room full of funders out there that will only be too happy to tell you about their funding and priorities, funding fairs a great place to narrow down
HLF – can’t fund individuals, need to be a constituted group (don’t have to be charity)
HLF – no deadlines under £100,000 but 8 week assessment so allow up to 3 months for a decision
- don’t do it alone, it’s stressful for you and risky for us!
Who might help you – Dougie! Gateway, critical friends, funders themselves will give advice on application and guidance (pre-app)
HLF – difference can be measured in outcomes
You know your project best – help us to understand your project using plain english (not buzzwords or jargon)
Can we talk about partnership funding from other lottery sources? Not a problem for HLF unless over £100,000 but might be worth mentioning
UNESCO world heritage definition
Anything from the past that you want to share and sustain for the future.
HLF doesn’t define heritage – it’s up to you to show us.
These are the 3 main programmes (SH, OH, HG) but will mainly focus on funding under £10,000. 2 other programmes worth mentioning, WW1 & YR
