5. Meet The People Of Vana’Diel
Hume
Elvaan
Tarutaru
Mithra

6. Hume
• Balanced abilities, average intelligence, and the
ability to excel in many different areas.
• Originate in the country of Bastok.
7. Elvaan
• Race of warriors, Elvaan are best suited for jobs
that wield a sword, as they have high strength,
good vitality, and a good amount of hit points.
• Originate in the country of San D’Oria
8. Tarutaru
• Very skilled in the ways of magic and have the
largest magic point pool in the game.
• Best choice for mage jobs.
• Originate in Windurst.
9. Mithra
• Have the best agility in the game, making them
harder to hit.
• Have the best dexterity as well.
• Originate in Windurst.
10. Galka
• Have the highest strength and hit points of all
the races.
• Originate in the country of Bastok.

13. Warrior or WAR
• Strong fighting skills,
specializing in using a
Great Axe.
• Use the support job of
Ninja for dual-wield axes
for a very powerful front
line job.
14. Monk or MNK
• Uses hand-to-hand
combat.
• Can create massive
damage.
15. Thief or THF
• Job with highest agility
stats.
• Can use Thief tools to
pick locks on chests, so a
key is not needed.
• Uses daggers, and has a
devastating weapon skill
called Viper Bite.
• Also, an effective puller.
16. White Mage or WHM
• Uses curative spells and is
essential to every party.
• Very fast invite rates.
• Has the ability to teleport
party members and self
to select locations around
the world.
17. Red Mage or RDM
• Uses both White Mage
and Black Mage spells,
but not all.
• Very valuable because
only Red Mage can cast
“Refresh” (a spell that
allows MP to restore
automatically).
• Casts spells that can
weaken enemies.
18. Black Mage or BLM
• Uses dark magic and
devastating spells.
• Is a damage dealer, as
their spells cause great
damage.
• Has the ability to warp
others and themselves
back to a players “Home
Point”.
19. Bard or BRD
• Uses music to either
enhance party members,
or to weaken enemies.
• Very fast invite rate.
• Can take a while to get
used to playing.
20. Beastmaster or BST
• Has the ability to cast
spells over enemies to
make them fight for you.
• Is mainly a solo job.
• Can solo all the way to
level 75.
21. Blue Mage or BLU
• Learns the magic spells of
enemies.
• Can cast very powerful
spells as well as curative
spells.
• Good damage dealer.
22. Corsair or COR
• Uses a system of dice to
increase status effects on
party members and enemies.
• Can “bust” and will make
party members lose status
effects and cause a status
ailment on self.
• Semi-fast invites, if no Bards
are availible.
• Uses guns as a weapon.
23. Dark Knight or DRK
• Very powerful damage
dealer.
• Also can use some Black
Magic.
• Main weapons of choice
are either a Scythe, or a
Great Sword.
24. Dragoon or DRG
• Has a pet Wyvern
fighting at their side.
• Very good damage dealer.
• Uses “Jump” abilities to
cause damage to enemies.
• Main weapon is a
Polearm.
25. Ninja or NIN
• Main use is as a tank. A tank
is the person who takes the
damage from the enemy in a
party.
• Can cast “Shadows”. Each
shadow will absorb a single
hit, preventing damage to the
Ninja.
• Also has the “Dual Wield”
ability allowing the use of
two weapons at once. Main
weapons are katanas.
• Fast invite rates.
26. Paladin or PLD
• Is used as a tank because
they can take a lot of
damage.
• Can use curative spells.
• Fast invite rates.
• Uses Sword and Shield.
27. Puppetmaster or PUP
• Has their own puppet
fighting alongside.
• Can fulfill many roles in a
party, such as tank,
backup healer, or damage
dealer.
• Also a good solo job.
28. Ranger or RNG
• Main use is as a puller.
• Can cause good damage.
• Has “Wide Scan” which
allows them to see where
enemies are on the map.
• Uses long ranged
weapons such as
crossbows and bows and
arrows.
29. Samurai or SAM
• Very good damage dealer.
• Has the ability to charge
up Tactical Points
without fighting, allowing
quicker use of Weapon
Skills.
• Weapon of choice: Great
Katana.
30. Summoner
• Can call avatars to fight
by their side.
• Avatars a SMN can gain
access to are: Carbuncle,
Fenrir, Garuda, Shiva,
Titan, Leviathan, Ifrit,
Ramuh, and Diabolos.
• Very large Magic Points
pool.
