1. CHRISTIAN SCRIPTURES ASSET PROJECT

Your semester project is based on the 40 assets in your journal. The project is due in increments. The
Reflection component of your project are worth 25 points in your 2nd quarter grade! The creative
component of your project is worth 20% of your semester exam!
Pay attention to the following deadlines:

PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND PROCEDURE
Write 3 reflections about the journaling process, answering the following questions. Answer each
question in one paragraph each.
Reflection Questions- 1 paragraph for each question: (TOTAL- 30 points)
1. Name and describe the 1 asset you need to develop most in your life. What are two
specific things you can do to develop this asset? (7-10 sent)
2. What is the most important positive discovery you made about yourself from this
journaling process? (7-10 sent)
3. What did you learn about other people in your life from this journaling process? (7-10 sent)
4. Prepare a creative project that showcases your top 5 assets by choosing among the options below. Whatever
option you choose, remember to include name, date, period, assignment and teacher in an easily visible
way. You will be using the Book Creator application as a way to showcase your work.(100 points)
CHOICES FOR CREATIVE PROJECT
OPTION A: DIGITAL PHOTO JOURNAL – this is a combination of a photo album and a journal. It
should include photos and reflections on those photos. (You MAY NOT simply COPY your journal entries!)
- Photos and reflections must clearly identify/express each of your top 5 assets.
- You must include 6-8 different photos for each asset. Each photo should be a different example of the asset.
- One solid well-developed paragraph must explain each asset and its photos. Each paragraph needs to be
at least 7 sentences. In your paragraph, try describing the memories and feelings you have about the
photos and how they are images of each asset in your life. Identify the asset above each paragraph.
- You should have a total of 5 paragraphs!
OPTION B: VIDEO PRESENTATION – this could include skits, edited footage from your life, or
computer animation.
- The video must clearly identify your top 5 assets.
- It may not exceed 10 minutes.
- It must have smooth transitions between cuts.
- Must write name, date, period and teacher on project!
2. IDEAS:
CREATIVE WRITING VIDEO
– this may include a short story, children’s story
Short story: (focuses more on teenage or young adult ideas/ideas)
-“Uncovering the story – uncovering the assets…” This should explain where in the story the asset is and
how it is connected to the story.
- Must clearly identify/express each of your top 5 assets.
Children’s story
- Must use child appropriate story-line, ideas, and language

OPTION D: MUSIC VIDEO – This is a musical recording. You may write your own lyrics to a tune you
know or write your own song. You may sing or rap.
- The song must clearly identify/express each of your top 5 assets.
-You must write at least one verse for each asset that includes examples.
- It must provide lyrics in a creative and artistic way (typing preferred).
- It must include an introduction to the song that prepares the listener and states the assets included
(1 paragraph minimum)
- Must write name, date, period and teacher on project!
