1. Finding E-Books in the Library

2. What is an E-Book?
An E-Book is an electronic version of a printed book. In
the catalog it will is listed as an Electronic Resource.

3. How do I access E-Books?
There are several ways you can access E-Books in
our library catalog:
1. Through a Basic Search (you might receive a
result that is an electronic resource).
2.Through an Advanced Search that limits results
to electronic resource (E-Books).
3.Directly through the E-books link on our library
website.

4. E-Books in Library Catalog
Sometimes you are searching for a book and you
might not be aware that there is an electronic
version available.

5. E-Books in Library Catalog
When you enter a search in the catalog, the results pull all
related resources regardless of format. The words
Electronic Resource will be listed in the format column.

6. Advanced Search for E-Books
In the search screen in the catalog, select Advanced
Search and then under Record Type select Electronic
Resource.

7. Electronic Resources
When an item is listed as an Electronic Resource it can
apply to several types of items.
1.Usually E-Books have an image of the textbook.
2. In the description of your item it will say Electronic
Book under Genre/Form

8. Accessing E-Books
•To access E-Books from the catalog click on the
record then select View Online; access limited to
Lehman College.
•For some E-Books you might need to select View
Online; access limited to CUNY

10. E-Book providers
• Lehman uses several different providers for E-books
and each has a different interface. Some of these
include:
 ebrary
 Ebsco e-book Academic Collection
 Lehman elibrary
 Palgrave Connect
• The library provides a Research Guide that includes
handouts and multimedia on how to view, print and
download e-books from these providers.

11. Research Guide on E-books
To access the Research Guide:
Go to Research Guides under Find Resources -- under
the Subjects go to E-books and click on the guide.
