• Georgia was the 13th Colony
• Founded on June 9th 1732 by James Edward
Oglethorpe under commission of King George II
• Six Ships with 116 Colonists landed at
Yamacraw Bluffs on Feb 12, 1733 and set up
what would later become Savannah
• Local Native American Tribes were Cherokee,
Muskegee (Creek), Chickasaw, Ocmulgee,
Etowah and Nachoochee
