1. -1Rhetorical Situation
Topic and Purpose: The purpose of this essay is technology, and to demonstrate how we
rely on technology. The experiences I have had over the past several years with my
friends have showed me how much we rely on technology. My experience illustrated in
this essay was about my son’s overwhelming curiosity of the technology that allows my
friends to walk. The purpose of the essay, however, was to show the lesson that my
friends have inadvertently taught him. Technology taught my son to accept others for
who they are, not because of what they have to do to be functional in daily life.
Audience: The audience is anyone who needs to know the object of accepting someone
for who they are, and not what they look like physically. I imagine and hope the readers
will think twice before they judge someone for their looks, and for what allows them to
be functional.
Stance: My attitude is that technology isn’t a hindrance. Technology allows my friends
to function like normal human beings, and to be productive members of society. It is
obvious in my essay how technology can help people.
Medium: This was an essay written in MLA format, and I didn’t change anything. I
adjusted the language and made sure the grammar was fixed.
