The Foundation for Partnership and Civil Society Development was founded in 2006 in Pula, Croatia by the Istrian Region. The Foundation aims to support nonprofit organizations through informational, professional, and financial assistance. It focuses on environmental protection, democracy, youth, capacity building, and social entrepreneurship. The Foundation runs grant programs, provides institutional support, and partners with local governments and the EU on various initiatives to promote civil society and address community issues in Istria.
4. Goal The main goal of the Foundation is to offer informational, professional and financial support for various programs that promote sustainability of the non-profit sector, cooperation, citizen initiative, volunteering and society development. The areas of Development of the Foundation are: Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development Democracy and Human Rights Youth Capacity building Promotion of social entrepreneurships
5. Projects of the Foundation Community initiatives " Our contribution to the community” – It represents grants that the Foundation divides to Civil society organizations according to Decentralized model of assignation of financial support for NGOs under the agreement on partnership with the National Foundation for Civil Society Development. (Istrian, Primorsko-goranska and Ličko-senjska county) Institutional support of the Foundation – The aim of the institutional support is strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations.
6. Projects of the Foundation Philanthropic fund Friends of Istria – The newest project of the Foundation it is the philanthropic fund geared towards corporate fundraising. The Fund was founded in order to enhance our continuous involvement in the promotion of the values of philanthropy and volunteerism. Info Days for Civil Society Organizations From 01.10.2010. is a contact point for the Agency for Mobility an EU programs in the territory of the Istrian County, Primorsko-goranska County and Ličko-senjska County
7. Projects of the Foundation Partners in the organization of the Fifth Regional Forum BPW Danube Net, forum for Business Women, under the sponsorship of the president of Croatia Actively involved in the organization of different events such as: International Volunteer Day , World water day, World health day, World family day, photo exhibition Faces from the Mediterranean, and many others.
8. Cooperation with the local government Small Projects for a better tomorrow – Is a Call for proposal open on the basis of the Cooperation Agreement signed by the Foundation with the Istrian towns and municipalities. It represents a cooperation between public institutions and civil society organizations, and it is the first call of these type in Croatia.

Small Projects for a better tomorrow – the proces Began in 2008. by signing the Letter of Intention, with which towns and municipalities have expressed their readiness to support and participate in the project The cooperation was concretized by signingthe partnership agreement – which is an outgoing process Members: 8 of 10 cities of the Istrian region 10 of 31 municipalities of the Istrian region
10. Eligible applicants are civil society organizations from the cities and municipalities that have signed the partnership agreement. The maximum duration of projects is 6 months and they have to contribute to the development of local community, provide solutions to real problems and raise the quality of life in the community. So far 2 open calls for funding Plan for 2012 is to include the remaining 2 cities and minimum 5 municipalities
11. EU Projects / cooperation I.C.E. Istria Communicating Europe - in 2009 the Foundation implemented these project with the overall objective to broaden the knowledge and understanding of the European Union and the process of European integration among Croatian citizens. ALL4EU – The Foundation, in the collaboration with the Istrian region, was an important element of the project All 4 Europe, an initiative which main task was setting-up citizens' panels in 7 different European countries in order to spur the discussion and dialogue between ordinary citizens, not directly involved in European issues. The project gave them a chance to expose their ideas and share their vision of Europe with fellow citizens.
12. I-KEY – This year, thanks to the grant received by IPA programme, the Foundation will implement an ambitious and broad-scale project geared towards the reduction of unemployment of young people THINK.EU – Funded by the Europe for citizens programme. Will star in August with the main objective to support Croatian accession to the EU with a strong, deep and sustained dialogue between civil society actors, youth and children and citizens in Istria.
