Monthly Economic Review of Emerging Market Economies: November 2012 Update
| 30 Nov 2012
Monthly Economic Review
Countries & Consumers brings you the latest monthly update on emerging market
economies.
In Q3 2012, economic growth in most emerging markets slowed
down due to the effects of global economic deceleration on their external sectors.
This prompted policy responses from governments of several emerging markets to
stimulate their economies; this has however also resulted in increased upward
inflationary pressure.
Economy Summary
In Q3 2012, Brazilian exports in US$ terms contracted at the
Brazil fastest pace in three years on an annual basis. In August 2012,
annual inflation rose to an eight-month high
Mexico’s real GDP growth decelerated to 0.5% quarter-on-
quarter (q-o-q) in Q3 2012 from 0.8% q-o-q in Q2 2012. In
Mexico
October 2012, consumer confidence rose for the first time in
three months
