I. OBJECTIVE: To show the life cycle of a buterfly.
Draw a lifecycle of a butterfly.

The life cycle of a butterfly begins with eggs-caterpillar-butterfly

III. Procedure:
A. Pre-reading Activities
1. Unlocking of Difficulties
Caterpillar
Cocoon
Chrysalis
(These words will b unlocked through the use of real object/picture)
2. Motivation:
Sing a son entitled “Butterfly”
Say:
Can you guess who I am?
I have wings of different colors.
I visit your garden everyday to sip rectar from the beautiful flowers.
Who I am? ____________. (Butterfly)
3. DEVELOPMENTAL LESSON
Everyone has seen butterflies.
What can you say about butterflies?
(Give leading question to the pupils)
The teacher writes the answer on the flower around the butterfly.
 Reading
The teacher reads the story as the children listen.
FROM EGG TO BUTTERFLY
A mother butterfly lays egg on a leaf. Each egg hatches into a caterpillar. This
caterpillar eats leaves. Then it makes a cocoon and sleeps there for a long time. After
many days, a butterfly from the chrysalis. This pretty butterfly flies among flowers.
 Post Reading Activities
1. Answering the motive question.
Where does a butterfly come out?
2. Answering the comprehensive questions.
 What does the mother butterfly lay on leaves?
 What happen to each egg on a leaf?
 Where does the caterpillar stay to eat its food?
 How long does the caterpillar sleep in the cocoon?
 Why does the caterpillar eat leaves?
 Why does the caterpillar sleep?
 Do growing children like you need to eat food? Why?
What kind of food do you need? Why?
 Do you need sleep? Why?
(Discuss with the children that growing children need to eat the right food.
Growing children, too need 8 to 10 hours of sleep) (to be healthy)
 After many days, what happen to the caterpillar?
3. For enrichment activity the pupils will arrange pictures that show the life cycle
of a butterfly.
(The teacher will check the work of the learners if it is correct.)
Generalization:
What is the life cycle of a butterfly?
What comes first?
3. PRACTICE ACTVITIES/APPLICATION
The teacher presents sentences taken from the story. Then they will act each
sentences or dramatize.
Ask:
What does mother butterfly do on a leaf? (lays)
How many butterfly are being talked about?
Who eats leaves? How many is being talked about?
What comes out from the chrysalis?
How many butterflies talked about?
(Chart the pupils answer)
Talked about How many? Action
Mother butterfly 1 Lays
Egg 1 hatches
Caterpillar 1 eats
Butterfly 1 comes
IV. EVALUATION: Draw a life cycle of the butterfly and color it well.
V. ASSIGNMENT
Draw/collect different kinds of butterfly. At least 5 pictures.

Answering the comprehensive questions.  What does the mother butterfly lay on leaves?  What happen to each egg on a leaf?  Where does the caterpillar stay to eat its food?  How long does the caterpillar sleep in the cocoon?  Why does the caterpillar eat leaves?  Why does the caterpillar sleep?  Do growing children like you need to eat food? Why? What kind of food do you need? Why?  Do you need sleep? Why? (Discuss with the children that growing children need to eat the right food. Growing children, too need 8 to 10 hours of sleep) (to be healthy)  After many days, what happen to the caterpillar? 3. For enrichment activity the pupils will arrange pictures that show the life cycle of a butterfly. (The teacher will check the work of the learners if it is correct.) Generalization: What is the life cycle of a butterfly? What comes first? 3. PRACTICE ACTVITIES/APPLICATION The teacher presents sentences taken from the story. Then they will act each sentences or dramatize. Ask: What does mother butterfly do on a leaf? (lays) How many butterfly are being talked about? Who eats leaves? How many is being talked about? What comes out from the chrysalis?
