© 2009  College Bound Types of Degrees Technical Degree  Received when you complete post-secondary vocational school  and are trained in a specific skill   Associate’s Degree Received when you complete the equivalent of 2 years at a post-secondary school (usually community college) Bachelor’s Degree Received when you complete the equivalent of 4 years at a  public or private college   Advanced Degree Received when you complete educational programs beyond a Bachelor’s (Examples include: Masters, M.D., Ph.D., J.D)
