• need lesson plan before you begin
• teach lesson, watch video, personal critique, class critique

5. how to prepare and plan
• choose comfortable content
• focus on instruction, not content knowledge
• have objective(s) - goal(s) of the lesson
• know your audience - age, ability, class size, gender, etc.
• is this a new unit or continuation from yesterday
• plan for you
• plan for students - learning styles and student needs

6. second lesson
• use critique from first lesson
• use your time
• different instructional method
• try something different
• if first lesson was new then try review
• if first lesson lecture based try activities

• active participation as needed
• observe
• think about what you might do
• think about how a favorite teacher from your past might
handle the lesson differently
• one thing that worked well
• one suggestion - try to avoid repetition
