Blogging from a knowledge management perspective can tap into undocumented knowledge, foster unexpected connections, and facilitate distributed apprenticeship. While blogging is personally meaningful in the long term and allows freedom and ownership without business targets, organizations should prepare for the unexpected by providing trust, coaching, resources, and appreciation to integrate and reuse knowledge shared through blogging.
In this talk I'll focus on answering three questions: what do you have to know about blogging? where does it add value? how to facilitate it? It is based on the insights from my PhD research: Efimova, L. (2009). Passion at work: blogging practices of knowledge workers. Enschede, Netherlands: Novay.
