SMART PUMPER SETS TELEMATIC STANDARDS IN ARTIFICIAL LIFT INDUSTRY
Real-time fluid analytics, 24 hour accessibility and affordability drive The Smart Pumper
management solution to raising automation standards in the artificial lift industry.
HOUSTON, TX – The Smart Pumper™ - Upstream Players develop automation for artificial lift industry
out of necessity to maximize production from 120 wells in the rain forest of Trinidad and Tobago while
minimizing environmental risk and controlling time and labor. The need to automatically determine
over time how best to pump a well, collect reservoir and operational data, and help regulate production
facilities and more, was the impetus for creating something better.
In a recent poll conducted by Microsoft and Accenture (Upstream Computing Trends Survey 2010,
published excerpts in Rigzone 9/21/10) found the greatest complaint with systems available to date
included the following: data collected is not easily accessed, not easily archived, requires more time to
process and assimilate data in order to instruct workers on how to proceed. However, The Smart
Pumper™ has made a breakthrough as it measures and records well site data and makes operational
decisions without constant oversight from production engineers. The data collected from analysis
algorithms built into the web based application is easily archived to the user’s server and shared via
desktop authorization supporting an open environment for efficient collaboration among peers, a
significant advantage over the traditional software development paradigms.
The Smart Pumper™ platform is a streamline Automation and Monitoring system that can be used to
manage any type of well-site operation (water wells, high gas/oil ratio, coalbed methane, shale gas,
marginal oil, thermally stimulated wells and others) in real time over the web through a variety of
communication protocols that are built-in. Use the Smart Pumper™ to control Drive Heads with PCPs,
ESPs, Pump Jacks with rod pumps, saltwater disposal pump stations, and more. User sets only two
parameters (the fluid level target desired and number of days to reach the target) to maximize pump
operation, production, and efficiency. See Graph I. In addition, The Smart Pumper™ incorporates
innovative power management features to help reduce energy use and enhance environmental
stewardship of well site operation.
The Smart Pumper™ is a product made in the USA by Direct DriveHead, Inc. headquartered in Houston,
TX. For additional information, visit www.directdrivehead.com or www.smartpumper.com or contact
