Led a program to bring up a new application development environment, including standards, tools and
processes. Mary led the development of the technical framework for use in client/server, distributed
application development efforts. It included client and server components as well as security, model
repositories, and an event service. She oversaw several projects with accountability for scope, status,
issue resolution, and budgets.
RELIASTAR FINANCIAL SERVICES (ING)
Provided project management services for a corporate initiative to develop a new Internet/intranet policy,
by facilitating business requirements sessions across several functional organizations, and helped to
document and validate them. A formal recommendation, including software tool selection, cost benefit
analysis, and implementation plan was presented to the Board of Directors at their monthly meeting, and
approved.
AMERICAN EXPRESS FINANCIAL SERVICES
As project manager in the Trust organization, built a new data import environment to enable
standardization of retirement fund data as it came into the organization. This involved project
management, requirements gathering and business analysis, cost benefit analysis, and building then
executing the implementation plan.
Mary provided project management services to a new application to automate business rules around data
requirements for customer eligibility.
St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company, St. Paul, MN 1977-1995
Project Manager
Managed the activities on a large data warehouse application for the Financial Services Department that involved
consolidating information from twenty-seven source systems and reengineering the final premium and loss closing
processes through the design of custom applications.
Managed the migration of the company’s workers compensation business from a purchased package to a custom
application
Within the Commercial Lines Department, managed the migration of several lines of business from an old legacy
system to the new, Manually Rated Premium system.
