    BMW Golf Cup International

The BMW Golf Cup International Season final was held at Fancourt form the 1st to the 6th of March 2010. Over 99
players form 34 countries entered the largest international tournament series for amateurs. Tramonto was happy
to host their Gala Awards Function at the tournaments’ conclusion on the 5th of March. The Gala was attended by
more than 200 guests in the presence of one of the greatest golfers of all time, Mr. Gary Player. Guests arrived in
style in various top of the Range BMW models to a red carpet entrance, after which they were welcomed with
champagne, oysters, sushi and an eloquent outdoor wine tasting done by NLR wines. Former Miss South Africa,
Jo-Ann Strauss charmed the audience with her wit and awards presentation, whereafter guests enjoyed cigars
and various selections of whiskeys, brandies and liqueurs in the Cigar Lounge. Thank you to BMW for a top class
function, equalling the theme: BMW = JOY!!!

    ABSA Drought Symposium

Absa Agribusiness held a successful Drought Symposium in George at Tramonto on the 15th of March 2010. The
symposium was attended by about 70 farmers and role players in the agricultural sector. The prolonging drought
in the Southern Cape remains a matter of concern to the farmers as well as other role players in agriculture. The
drought has had a substantial impact on the agricultural sector. The main speakers of the day were Dr Hans
Balyamujura, General Manager: Absa AgriBusiness, Mr. Jaco le Roux, and General Manager: Absa Agricultural
Credit and Mr. Giel Hugo, Meteorologist: Overberg Test Plant.

Organisers and farmers alike felt that they are at least a step closer to a drought planning and prevention
structure and proposal, also taking into consideration the changes in climate and what causes it. Absa is also
    financially assisting farmers where possible.

Stop the Stress!!!

For many women their wedding is the single most important event of their lives, so shouldn’t it also be the happiest??
Planning a wedding can often be a very daunting and stressful task, decisions decisions decisions! To help lift the
load, take note of a few small things that you can do to minimize the sleepless nights dreaming about cake and
maximise the fun!

    • Talk to previous brides about their experiences, they will be able to tell you what they wish they knew before
the big day, try to find a bride that used the same Venue that you plan on using, its never a bad thing to get
an opinion on someone else’s passed experience, that will most probably excite you even more.
    • Brows the internet, read magazines, set yourself open for ideas and inspiration to come to you in any form.
    • Have a budget and stick to it, remember that there is still life after the wedding day.
    • Remember to steal a quiet moment with your partner on the day.
• Get yourself an experienced wedding planner, a planner will help you plan your wedding step by step, helping
you source the best suppliers and assisting you with the small things you might not know about, find
someone who compliments your personality and be assured that they have the proper qualifications.

Godiva Chocolatier. . .

We present to you with the best of Belgium.

Godiva Chocolatier was founded 80 years ago in Brussels, Belgium. Master Chocolatier Joseph Draps created a range
of chocolates with extraordinary richness and form. It was a collection of passion and purity. He sought a name that
embodied the timeless qualities of passion, style, sensuality and modern boldness... his choice? Godiva – in honour of
Lady Godiva, a woman of great generosity and beauty who left an indelible impression upon the people she reigned
over in Coventry between 1040 to 1080.

Godiva chocolates are available in 80 countries all over the world (including South Africa). Visit www.godiva.com to
place your order.

This is a chocolate that engages all the senses and is sure to engage everyone that passes it over their lips! These
chocolates make a fantastic party or wedding favour.

Having an Easter Wedding?

Great party favour: Kids Delight: Wedding favour:

Beaded milk chocolate Bunny delights Easter Celebration cake couture

Easter egg egg basket – perfect to keep favour.

                                         kids occupied during speeches
The lollypop tree is an ever-increasing sight at weddings. They are fantastic space fillers and create a sense of
calmness, bringing a little of the glorious outdoors inside!

Instead of having a florist make up lollypops out of tons of greenery that will fade within a day, why not get the real
thing?

These fantastic little trees are available for hire or to buy and will be delivered to your doorstep. They are perfectly
trimmed and ready to use just as they are. Jazz them up by adding your chosen wedding flowers between the
branches so that they seem to be in bloom. Use them in the garden to create a private spot where you can steal a
moment with your partner or simply use them to fill an empty corner. For more information contact Lesley Stokes @
Petal Place Floral Designs: info@petal-place.co.za.

There is certainly something magical about the vibrant oranges, browns, yellows and rusty reds of autumn. Autumn
weddings allow the perfect opportunity to be a bit bold in your colour and décor without the risk of being to “themey”
or forced or eyebrows being raised. Autumn also allows you to play with somewhat nostalgic design elements such as
acorns, leaves, fruits and pumpkins…. it’s the perfect opportunity for you to use the natural beauty of the outdoors to
match your theme, connecting you to the very heart of autumn.
We are thinking hot chocolate, chilli chocolate fondue, cosy comfort, fireplaces and rich red wine! Imagine the crisp
cool air, clear blue skies, autumn leaves rustling in the wind, picture the colourful homemade & bottled jams &
preserves, honey and jellies and get ready to be autumn inspired!!!!

Jams/honey/honey dipping spoons/preserves and jellies make for great favours.

Did you know? In Shakespeare’s time, sheaves of wheat were carried in the wedding procession and was sometimes
tucked into the Bride’s veil. Wheat, while synonymous with autumn and all its bounty, is also a symbol of fertility. It
is referred to as the “Giving Grain” and because wheat was historically a sign of bounty and prosperity, it was also the
incubus for the advent of the Wedding Cake.

Two Oceans Marathon

Saturday, 03 April 2010 in Cape Town
The Two Oceans Marathon is a marathon with global appeal. Hosted in the beautiful sea side city of Cape Town, the
Two Oceans Marathon attracts some 20 000 participants who willingly take on 56 kilometres of open road and
challenging mountain climbs. An interesting feature of the route is, as the name indicates, that it passes both oceans
surrounding the South African shoreline - the Indian and Atlantic Oceans.

The Two Oceans Marathon route didn’t include Chapman’s Peak for a few years because of the danger of regular rock
falls that led to the closure of this mountain pass. However R156 million and a few engineering and construction feats
later, Chapman’s Peak was reopened and was re-included into the Two Oceans Marathon route - much to the delight
of regular entrants. For more information go to http://www.twooceansmarathon.org.za/.

Corné & Ross Henderson
Corné and Ross are one of those couples who have a very calm spirit about them. We had a great time working
together planning their big day and lots of ideas were tossed around to create an unforgettable wedding day!

Corné grew up on the farm Rooikoppies in Stytlerville. Little did the small-town girl know that, when the Henderson
family bought the neighbouring farm, Ross Henderson, the ever-so handsome son of Mr Henderson, was to be her
future husband!

Ross and Corné were neighbours from 2000 but only started seeing each other during university vacations because
Ross was finishing his matric year in Port Elizabeth and Corné was still in school in Graaff Reinette.

A few years later, while Ross and Corné were at university, they were back in Stytlerville for vacation. They went to
the biltong feast of the town in 2005 (as friends) … but after a kiss in the moonlight of Somerset East some time
after the feast, the fire was kindled! They started going out and got engaged in the beautiful and romantic setting of
Meiringspoort in July 2009.

Their wedding was held at The Venue @ Tramonto. Guests were entertained by the garden fountain with snacks and
cocktails while the couple sneaked off for a private photo session. “It was a perfectly beautiful day!”

Instead of having a florist make up lollypops out of tons of greenery that will fade within a day, why not get the real thing? These fantastic little trees are available for hire or to buy and will be delivered to your doorstep. They are perfectly trimmed and ready to use just as they are. Jazz them up by adding your chosen wedding flowers between the branches so that they seem to be in bloom. Use them in the garden to create a private spot where you can steal a moment with your partner or simply use them to fill an empty corner. There is certainly something magical about the vibrant oranges, browns, yellows and rusty reds of autumn. Autumn weddings allow the perfect opportunity to be a bit bold in your colour and décor without the risk of being to “themey” or forced or eyebrows being raised. Autumn also allows you to play with somewhat nostalgic design elements such as acorns, leaves, fruits and pumpkins…. it’s the perfect opportunity for you to use the natural beauty of the outdoors to match your theme, connecting you to the very heart of autumn.

Imagine the crisp cool air, clear blue skies, autumn leaves rustling in the wind, picture the colourful homemade & bottled jams & preserves, honey and jellies and get ready to be autumn inspired!!!! Jams/honey/honey dipping spoons/preserves and jellies make for great favours. Did you know? In Shakespeare’s time, sheaves of wheat were carried in the wedding procession and was sometimes tucked into the Bride’s veil. Wheat, while synonymous with autumn and all its bounty, is also a symbol of fertility. It is referred to as the “Giving Grain” and because wheat was historically a sign of bounty and prosperity, it was also the incubus for the advent of the Wedding Cake. Two Oceans Marathon Saturday, 03 April 2010 in Cape Town
  • 6. The Two Oceans Marathon is a marathon with global appeal. Hosted in the beautiful sea side city of Cape Town, the Two Oceans Marathon attracts some 20 000 participants who willingly take on 56 kilometres of open road and challenging mountain climbs. An interesting feature of the route is, as the name indicates, that it passes both oceans surrounding the South African shoreline - the Indian and Atlantic Oceans. The Two Oceans Marathon route didn’t include Chapman’s Peak for a few years because of the danger of regular rock falls that led to the closure of this mountain pass. However R156 million and a few engineering and construction feats later, Chapman’s Peak was reopened and was re-included into the Two Oceans Marathon route - much to the delight of regular entrants. • 8. Corné & Ross Henderson Corné and Ross are one of those couples who have a very calm spirit about them. We had a great time working together planning their big day and lots of ideas were tossed around to create an unforgettable wedding day! Corné grew up on the farm Rooikoppies in Stytlerville. Little did the small-town girl know that, when the Henderson family bought the neighbouring farm, Ross Henderson, the ever-so handsome son of Mr Henderson, was to be her future husband! Ross and Corné were neighbours from 2000 but only started seeing each other during university vacations because Ross was finishing his matric year in Port Elizabeth and Corné was still in school in Graaff Reinette. A few years later, while Ross and Corné were at university, they were back in Stytlerville for vacation. They went to the biltong feast of the town in 2005 (as friends) … but after a kiss in the moonlight of Somerset East some time after the feast, the fire was kindled! They started going out and got engaged in the beautiful and romantic setting of Meiringspoort in July 2009. Their wedding was held at The Venue @ Tramonto. Guests were entertained by the garden fountain with snacks and cocktails while the couple sneaked off for a private photo session. “It was a perfectly beautiful day!” Service Providers: Planner: Maryke Groenewald @ Tramonto Photographer: Anton & Lyn van Wyk Flowers: Rita Flowers
