Explain your answer. DQ1 Answer: It is an unfortunate fact that there is not a proper distribution of ethnic groups in our educational system. This is particularly true of SPED classes. In these classes there are too many minority groups. As a result people get the mistaken notion that these minority groups have a higher proportion of disabled students. Socioeconomics, however, is the prime reason for this disproportionate representation. Poor families are not able to provide for their children. Lack of food, poisoning from environmental substances seeping out of old buildings etc, and an oftentimes dangerous neighborhood situation can harm these children to the point of disability, hence the enrollment in SPED classes.
