The soaring horizonof RPObusiness in India
I recently happened to come across the column in Times of India, which had a lot to say about the
growing situation of Indian RPO business. The column was about a special discussion with the CFO
Robert Jan van de Kraats and Randstad India CEO Moorthy Uppaluri. Both having a similar opinion
said that Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) in India is not only to stay, but is growing at an
unexpected rate.
This business sector has shaped up tremendously in India owing to the high demand of Professional
Recruiters from offshore companies, majorly from USA & UK. India undoubtedly becomes the first
choice for hiring recruiters due to their skill-sets, technology expertise, and professionalism. And most
important they come at economical rates. Their quick turn-around-time makes them a more viable
option.
After accepting the advantages of RPO Partners, Indian companies also now see a great value in such
business associations. The phenomenal difference that these recruitment partners have to offer has
made them creep into every industry sector. Be it a service industry or manufacturing unit, tale nt
hunger never recedes. From temporary staffing, to contractual hiring and permanent boarding; RPO’s
shoulder each responsibility diligently. RPO’s associate not only to become a full-fledged recruitment

Working as a professional in this sector for many years now, I have too seen a change in mindset of
company owners in India. Initially, the scope for recruitment partners in India was limited to playing
the role of a job consultant, which would do the task of gathering requirement, search profiles and line
up interviews. With RPO to aid, the entire scenario has changed! Volume talent acquisition is now
much easy and reliable with these business associates.
Trends keep on changing in every industry; RPO Business has also undergone a radical change and
has embraced the wings to technology to empower itself, soar high and bloom to become an indefinite
horizon!! I believe, since the inception of RPO, we have just reached the nascent stage and have much
more to explore and look for growing avenues.
