The Five Food Groups for Healthy Eating The five food groups, helps kids to receive all the nutrients they need each day. You'll need to eat a number of serves from each group depending on your age and how active you are.
In a healthy diet you eat the right balance of these groups.  This means eating a wide variety of foods in the right proportions.

Oils, fats and Sweets A Little amount
Cheese, Yogurt and Milk 2-3 Servings p/day
Fruit Group 2-4 Servings p/day
Meat, Poultry, Fish, Dry Beans and Nuts Group 2-3 servings p/day
Bread, Cereal, Rice and Pasta 6-11 Servings p/day
