3. • Remember to turn off lights and the AC
when you leave your cabin/ your room. This
may sound simple, but in our busy lifestyle
we may forget to follow it. Do the same
for all your appliances, and there will be a
drop in your DEWA bill.
4. • Energy saving light bulbs are much more
efficient than the traditional version and
last upto 10 times longer. Next time u need
to replace a bulb, take the energy saving
option. You can save a lot by making this
switch.
5. • Open your blinds when the sun has risen
and let the sunlight stream in. You’ll save
the electricity that the lights would have
consumed. Daylight can brighten your
room and mood. At home, it would add to
your room’s aesthetics more than any
colorful light.
6. • Clean or replace your AC filter monthly so
your AC runs efficiently. If you don’t do
so, the energy consumption for the
required cooling will increase, as we will
keep reducing the temperature for
sufficient cooling which would increase
the digits of your electricity bill.
7. • Are you taking out stuff from the
refrigerator??? Or are you chilling out
something??? Then keep this in mind- Decide
what you want from the fridge or take in
hand what you want to keep in the fridge and
then open and get/ keep the thing. This way
cooled air does not leave out and cooling
energy does not get wasted. It will conserve
the electrical energy being consumed to
maintain low temperatures.
8. • This is for those who have a garden or a
lawn. Promote deep root growth through a
combination of proper watering, aerating,
appropriate fertilization, thatch (grass
clippings) control, and attention to lawn
height. A lawn with deep roots requires
less water and is more resistant to drought
and disease.
