2. About the islands Trinidad and Tobago is an archipelagic republic It is located in the southern Caribbean. It was originally a Spanish colony (1492-1802) The country covers an area of 5,128 square kilometres It is best known for its carnival
3. Celebrations and traditions The most important celebration of Trinidad and Tobago is carnival: It is celebrated in Savannah park. The Carnival goes on for 3 days straight, everyone dresses up, and even puts mud on their face. They spend 2 weeks before celebrating non stop. It is full of competitions, music, food… As soon as the carnival finishes they start making costumes for next year! Trinidad and Tobago is extremely multicultural , therefore there are many people from all around the world.

Chicken Curry: a typical curry consists of chicken in an onion, tomato, and yogurt-based sauce, flavoured with ginger, garlic, chillies and cumin, cinnamon and cardamom Roti: is bread made from stone-ground wholemeal flour Dalpuri: variation of roti. (There is also a lot of fish cooked in different ways)
