John Lennon was an English musician and songwriter who co-founded the Beatles, the most commercially successful band in history. With Paul McCartney, he formed one of the most celebrated songwriting partnerships of the 20th century. After the Beatles disbanded in 1970, Lennon embarked on a successful solo career producing critically acclaimed albums like Imagine and iconic songs like "Imagine" and "Give Peace a Chance." He was murdered in 1980 just after the release of his comeback album Double Fantasy.
