2. Entry 1: Social interaction
Social interactionisarelationshipbetweenagroupof two,three or a largersocial
group.It can occurs through verbal communicationsuchasgreetingto/byanother
individualsandsayinghellotoeachother.Besides,nonverbalcommunicationsuchas
wavinghand,showingsmileandsometimessecurityguardsshowingsalutewhenresidents
pass by.These are the interactionbetweenone andanother.Social interactioncannot
regulatedbythe price mechanism.
For example,Ilove tobeenmyself inapark as the environmentandavast empty
spacesletme feel freedomwhenIstressingoutbythe assignments.Unfortunately,culture
inAsiawouldbe the keyto disappointme because people nevertogive respondsto
strangerseventhoughpeople hadnomindonhurtingthem.However,Ifoundapark
locatedinKualaLumpur named‘DesaParkcity’.Atthere,whenIsmile tothe people cycling
or joggingaroundthe park, theywouldreactto me.Sometimes,theywere the firsttosay
‘Hello’tome.I feltmyself hadagreatinteractionwithpeoplearound.I’minlovedto been
myself there justtoobserve howpeople interactbetweeneachother.
Next,social interactioncan be occurredin face to face or throughsocial media.
Sometimes,Icanhappenedinplayingonlinevideogames.WhenIwasin primary school,I
was sointoand addictedtovideogameswhichisMaple Story.WhenI firsttransferfrom
primaryto secondaryschool,Ihardlymade new friendsinsecondaryschool.Irealisedthat
my secondaryschool friendsactuallyenjoyedplayingthatgame a lot.Hence,I got a reason
to approach themandeveninteractingwiththem.Beinginteractthroughvideogamescould
leadme to socialise betweenothers.
3. Entry 2: Social comparison
Social comparisonstatesthatwe compare our ownlifestyle,status,ability,
characteristicandthingsthat can create jealousybetweenindividuals.Thismeanthatwhat
individualhasonthemcompare to others.Thiscan create eitherhigherself-esteemon
individualorjealousyof othersif otherhassomethingthathigherconditions.
For example,inmycollegelife,Ihadmanyof friendswere notfromlocal place and
theydidnot owna car. Withouta car in a city,theyhad to put themselvesintotroublesby
walkingtoschool,takinga busor LRT to reachthe destination.Forme,myparentsbought
me a PerduaKancil.Althoughitwasnota veryluxurycar butI feltitblessedbecause atleast
I got a car to reach mydestinationcomparedtomyfriendswhoheadache ontransportation.
WhenI firstenteredTaylor’sUniversity,Ifoundthatstatuswasan importantthings.
People showedtheirstatusthroughoutdressingontheirownsuchaswearingbranded
items,luxurycarand soon. Withthiskindof dressingcouldattractedjealousyof othersbut
theycouldboostup theirsocial status.Iborn inmiddle income family.InTaylor’sImeta lot
of type of people.Ihada friendthathe lovedall those brandeditems.Whenhe saw a
people equippedwithabrandeditemsuchasbelts,spec,braceletandsoon hissightwould
be attracted on those things.Buthe alwaysfeltthatat leasthe got clothto wearcompared
to all those Africanwhodidnot have anyclothon theirbody.
4. Entry 3: Counterfactual thinking
Counterfactual thinkingisthinkingaboutapast thatdid nothappen.Thisoften
happens inthingsthathad not happened. The resultsandoutcomescanbe eitherbeyond
our expectationorevenworse. Expectationsuchasif I can buya lotterynumber,Ihave a
muston winningtheirRM100, 000.
I had an experiencedonacar accident.I wasin rushon goingback home so I drove
my car until 180km/h in the highwaywithoutconsiderationthere wasraining outthere.
Unfortunately,Igotina car crash due to the slipperyroad. Afterthe crash,inmy mind
that time I wasthinkingthatif I coulddrive carefullybyslowingdownthe speedandput
more alertwhendriving,Iwouldnotinvolve inthe caraccidentandmy parentswouldnot
take away mylicense andstopme from driving.
5. Entry 4: Motivation
Motivationisan arousal processto an individual thatletthemaccomplishtheir
goal in a short time.Itcannot be observe directly.People cangetmotivated mostlyin
quotes,actions,film, speakorif the individualhasagreat hobbyon it,he/she canbe
motivated.Motivationcanbe differentiate tointrinsicorextrinsic.
WhenI was inprimaryschool,I experiencedinanintrinsicmotivationthrougha
hobbyof playingvolleyballuntil now.Ihada greatdreamof beinginternational player,I
pushedmyself tothe max andtrainedmyskillseveryday.Duringthe toughtraining,Icould
not findithard butis a kindof enjoyingit.Mydream hadmotivatedme andalsoan
internal desire tohave myhandinvolleyball foritsownsake.
Besides,Ihadtriedmyself inextrinsicmotivation.ItoccurredwhenIwantedtogo
to UnitedKingdomtohave an overseastudy. It’sasad case because Ihad to enrol into
IELTS examand geta flyingcoloursresult.Iforcedmyself onstudyingnewsviaBBC,British
article,Britishslangandsoon. I paida lot of effortsonstudyingitbecause Iwant toget
passedinIELTS exam.My behaviourswasmotivatedbyadesire togetmyself toUnited
Kingdom.
6. Entry 5: The ABCsof attitude
ABCsof attitude have 3 of the structure whichare affective component,
behavioural componentandcognitivecomponent.Affective componentis anindividual’s
feelingsandemotionsaboutthe attitude object.Behaviourcomponentisthe waythe
attitude we have influenceshowwe actor behave.Finally,cognitive componentisperson's
belief /knowledgeaboutanattitude object. The ABCsof attitude are emphasize onthe
interrelationshipsamongknowing,feeling,anddoing.
For example,Ihadan emergencybreakasIdrove my car near to the car infront.It
was a rainyday,the car in frontof me had an emergencybreakandIcouldnot react on to
at that moment.Unfortunately,Ihada crash onthat car. Foraffective component,Iwas
scaredfor a rainy day.For behavioural component,Iwill nottosticktoonear to the car in
frontand had a distance whendriving.Forcognitivecomponent,Ibelievedthatthe closer
the distance betweenmycarand the car infront,the more dangerousitwas.
