- What it isn't: - Facebook connect and other so called open system which just serve as another form of lockin - Google docs, storing your data in the cloud - Many of these companies use this as a data mining opportunity, desperately trying to make money out of your data
- Removing the lockins leads to consumer choice and competition We need data to be in hands of the owner – so where , how and with who that data is shared with - campaign to have email addresses over open data... surely that's my choice? EG: http://www.spokeo.com/ This should be everywhere, including when dealing with governments
- Simple data formats which are easy and quick to understand and implement Which allow... Network federalisation... How do you take on the big players when you're small? Work together! Allow users to move about and own their data
- Not just about formats remember, but here are some of them that might be useful - discuss
